Vintage GE Americana electric range w/rotisserie oven - $300

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

It looks to be woodtone, not coppertone... which I think would make this a very early version of the Americana, because woodtone didn't last much into the sixties... As Hans said, it is an upper unit only, they were available like this without the lower oven.

I mentioned I like this oven design and now I'm wondering if this design(graphically chromatic, as best as I can describe it), was extended, if available, to a second oven. I'm imagining this would be doubly beautiful, with the woodtone top and a second oven that matched the style on top.

Thanks(anyone).

Phil

Phil, all of the Americana double ovens that I have seen extend the color of the surface units (in this case woodtone) to the lower oven door (with or without an oven door window), I do not recall ever seeing a silver finish or full glass lower door.

Jeff - I have the same observations, but if Ken says the lower ovens with or without the windows had the same silvery finish, I hope I come across one. But if they only made them for a couple years like that, they're probably very rare.

Thank you!

Glomain -

Thanks for the offer. I meant that I would like to see one of these in a photo. These Skylight(?) or Skyview(?)windows were only made for a couple years, as I learned. They were succeeded by the GE P7 ovens, so I'm more inclined to admire these Skyview/Skylight models for now. I'd collect stoves if I had room, though!

Here are some member's Americana's - Ben, do you still have that coppertone beauty?

I have a coppertone GE Americana range, with upper and lower ovens, that looks like the one pictured in Reply #10. The griddle and rotisserie and owner's manual are all here. I would love to sell it. If that $300 is a fair price, I'm in. Is this the best forum for that or do I need to deal with those huge websites? I'm in Southern California and can't deal with shipping it anywhere.

Thanks,

Sue

Sue...

It's the right forum...but a separate posting and photos of your unit ..as many of the outside and interior to give a complete, overall view...would be very helpful.

I have one like "swestoyz" in Post# 860082, Reply# 11 1/4/2016 at 19:32 (1,805 days old). But mine has a vent on top.

It's going to be for sale soon. Anybody interested?

You should post photos of it, and do it in a new thread....more people will see it, I promise!

Is it like Ben's, in coppertone? (I duplicated his photo below, to link my question to the color)
