Beautiful machine. I'd guess 1969 or 1970 maybe, based on the console graphics/design? Although, that would be too late for a factory turquoise finish, so not sure....
That's the end of them with the push to start button and the round, pebble glass window that prevents you from seeing much inside action--stupid decision.
That is just beautiful.I had one of those 30 years ago but it was green and had the square window. Would love to see more pics when you get it home.Congratulations on a stellar find. Most of my machines I found here at AW.Hoard
The "HEAVY DUTY"emblem on the control panel would date it definitively as a 1969 model if it were a washer or dryer but GE took liberties with the Combos and used parts from previous years all the time. Might be true of porcelain colors as well.
So a friend of mine in Albuquerque went and picked this up for me yesterday. In the pictures it shows that the lower kick panel is missing, however it was with the machine, just not on. It also came with a tray/pan that the unit sits in. He said it does appear that it was originally white and was painted at some point. He said whoever did the painting did a good job. He will be holding onto it for me until I can get there sometime this spring.
YAY! They are beautiful to look at. Unless you have an independent water supply like a well, you are probably not going to want to dry in it unless you can run the water outside to your landscaping. Drying will take about 30 to 45 gallons for condensation unless you spin the load in something else before drying. It's condenser drying will produce very soft towels.
