VINTAGE KENMORE RANGE STOVE W/ DOUBLE OVENS

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

It is basically a Roper Charm. These are from the early 60s. While the electric ones were less troublesome than the gas ones, they all suffered from design faults and cheap construction. A neighbor in Greenbelt had a 30" electric with French Doors on the oven and the gasket between them was gone in the 80s. A family on my first paper route had a 30" electric Kenmore with an oven above and and an oven below the pullout cooktop. The husband worked for Sears and they had a big kitchen remodel and turned the breezeway between the garage and the house into a little (really little) den. The wife showed me the kitchen and I asked about the range because, unlike an Americana with the fixed cooktop between the ovens, this 30" Kenmore by Roper had a pullout cooktop which blocked access to the lower oven if the cooktop was being used.

Their early 60s Kenmore washer and dryer were in the garage. There were no buttons on the washer control panel, just a green or blue, I think, two column table with the letters and what cycle each represented: the standard A for cottons white, etc. While the timer was not a lock stop, all of the wash temperature settings were contained in the timer according to the letter settings and the speeds and rinse water temperatures were set by the cycle.

Thanks for the info guys! When you think you have seen every model stove a new one pops up. I think that it kinda looked 70s because of the smoked glass and the way they opened.

My second family had something similar to this but it was white and was gas. I thought it was the coolest stove I have ever seen. I was upset when they got rid of it.

Its been a long time ago. Did the gas model broil and rotisserie on the right and bake in the left? I think I see broil elements in both ovens of the electric. alr
