Help Support :

I'd be in the truck NOW!!!

i agree with danemodsandy here!!!

tennblondie78 CONGRATULATIONS on getting contact with the seller!! i am so happy & excited for you!! this is the kind of washer i am actually wanting to upgrade to, from my 208.

and if i was you, i wouldn't wait or put off going to get this set of maytags. like danemodsandy said, with craigslist sellers, it is "first come, first served". and even if she/the seller, made a deal with you, if someone shows up with the cash, she will sell them. and if she tells them she's already agreed at $100, they just might offer her $150 to make her budge. and $150, isn't nothing, to pay for this set of maytags!!!!

don't wait girl, GET UP AND GO NOW!!!
or you will be so sorry if you miss out on them cuz you wanted to wait. if these are really something you want, i wouldn't wait.

GO! GO! GO!!!

fingers crossd for you........

:o)

GO GET THEM!!!

if she doesn't know

how to use her cell phone or internet, her husband may be spreading the word that they are trying to sell a vintage set of maytags.

if i was you, i wouldn't leave it up to chance!!!
(learn from our mistakes)
this is the only model that has the lighted up consoles, besides the all push-button set of 906 maytags. but this is the only "center-dial" maytags that has the lighted consoles.

the dryer is a DE808, so it's a stream of heat

even better!!!
that means it is a super capacity dryer for BIG loads...

;o)

YAY!

You're very lucky. I'm glad she worked with you on the situation.

806's are not exactly rare, but they don't exactly grow on trees, either. Anyone who gets a well-kept set is fortunate. My Almond drivers were not in the best of condition when I got them, and my early set is being a lot of work.

WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!

CONGRATULATIONS tennblondie78!!!

at least now you know, nobody else is gonna try to get them before you!!!

i'm so happy for you!!!

keep us posted!!!

can't wait until you get them back home and start washing in them!!

ATTA GIRL...

;o)

Stephanie,

If you take the machines apart to work on them, be sure and post some pics. We like that.

And you didn't have to go to far to get them. That's nice. They look in really nice condition.

First off- CONGRATULATIONS TO STEPHANIE---YAY!!!

Now just to get a little clarification for myself. Button setup I see left to right-
4 speed- normal wash, normal spin, gentle wash, gentle spin
5 temps.- 3 wash (hot, warm, cold), 2 rinse (warm and cold)
4 water level- small, medium, normal, and super? (not sure how they are marked)

If this had been a suds model, I know those two buttons would be with the speed group. Would it still be a 806 or would that make it a 808?

I'm just trying to get the configuration down in my head since there are so many different variables between them.

Thanks gang and BTW

Have a Great Memorial Weekend,
Rick

If this had been a suds model, would it still be a 806..

yes, it would still be an 806.
but if it were a suds-saver model, it would then be a model A806s.
(i think?).

if i'm wrong, someone will come along & correct me. but i think i'm right, if i'm learning correctly...

:o)

Christina,

That's what I thought but wasn't sure. I know that a lot of their model #'s match between the washer and dryers. Is there such a washer as an 808? If so, what's its difference from the 806?

One of these days I'll get the differences down. For that matter didn't someone post a link on here before for a chart that told you what each model had to offer?
That would be a huge help.

Anyhow, thanks!

Rick

washdaddy...

rick!!

sounds like you're in the same boat as me, when it comes to learning (with the confusing model numbers) LOL.....
i'm still learning. but the ones i am getting good at knowing are the ones with the 2 speed motors, cuz i would want a "GENTLE" agitation.

as for your question, if there is an 808 washer;
no, i don't think there is an 808 washer to match the 808 dryer. the matching washer for the 808 dryer would be the 806 washer (that i know).
but like i said, i am still learning too. so, i could be wrong here. and if i am, it wouldn't be the first time. :o)
hm hm hm....

actually, to try to learn the different model numbers, i've "bookmarked" on my computer, 3 different webpages listing/showing the different model numbers, just so i could look back on for reference.
i'll share them with you so that you can click on the link, and bookmark it into your computer, so that you can look back on it when you need to, too!!

and here is link #3:

all 3 are message threads that were posted here in the aw.org group. so, you will have to scroll down the messages to find the information.
the first 2 have pictures of the control panels (thanks to kenmore71) and the 3rd one has the chart with the model numbers and the years that they were made (thanks to gansky1).

thank you both, to gansky1 & kenmore71 for the great information & pictures that they both posted in these threads.

;o)

didn't someone post a link...

on here before, for a chart, that told you what each model had to offer?:

there might have been information on the different dryer models, that someone could have posted on here. i'm thinking there might have been, but since i wasn't really looking for a dryer (cuz we don't have the room for another dryer at this time) i didn't really pay much attention to that information. another reason too is that i hang my clothes outside, on the clothesline to dry. so, i'm not really looking for a dryer at the moment.

so, if there was information on the different dryer models, i didn't bookmark that information.
sorry...

:o(

They are back home safe and sound...

I have the washer and dryer!! They are sitting in the garage as we speak. :) They weren't exactly as minty as they looked in the CL pics, but they will clean up nicely. There's nothing that a little TLC can't fix!! Just preliminary findings: the dryer is missing the light lens inside the drum, and the cover plate for the side vent option is missing. The dryer cord will need replacing, it's cracked and showing bare wires. I plugged the washer in and the console lights up, although it's dim and slow to come on. I already figured those lights would need some work. I got the washer to spin, but it isn't hooked up to water in the garage so I can't test it much more right now. Couldn't test the dryer, no way to plug it in until I get it in the laundry room. The sticker is still on the top of the washer from where it was originally bought. Someone wrote 10/18/76 on it. Lots of pics are soon to follow!! Thanks to everyone for cheering me on!! I'm so grateful to get them!

Congratulations on a beautiful set

I've been watching this thread and I wanted to congratulate you on a beautiful set. I've wanted an 806 for a while now but the drive distances were always too great. May you have many sudsy afternoons making the world a cleaner place.

PS, when you get them set up, spend five minutes and gratuitously press all the buttons over and over again to get it out of your system.
