They sure look nice. $2000? Do these people realize the present (and future) state of the economy? Good luck to them........

Considering the number of cabinets included, I'm not sure $2000 is such a terrible deal. How far would 2 grand get you buying a kitchenful of cabinets plus appliances at Home Depot?

And what you'd get today would not be the quality of those oldies!

I guess I just look at it from the "average" persons point of view. Most of these ended up (and continue to end up) in the dump with no profit made.

Most, if not all of the appliances, WILL need work to get them functioning properly, reliably, and safely. Lets not mention the time and $ just to locate parts alone! That's big task to take on as far as $ and time are concerned.

Depending on their condition, everything may need to be blasted and repainted if you want them to look close to perfection. LOTS of time and $ involved, especailly when you add to the cost of the units + shipping.

As far as getting everything to fit and function correctly in a kitchen, you'd have to BUILD a kitchen around this entire setup. There goes even more time and $$. Most kitchens I've been in wouldn't even begin to have enough space to house everything in that auction.

But, for those who have hardcore determination to get all of the above to worked out, the end result would be one hell of a nice retro kitchen!!

Yes, 2K is really inexpensive for this lot. One would be hard placed to find cabinets today of the same quality (much less color), for the money.

Yes, it will cost serious money to install and bring certian of the appliances up to working order, but when has that ever driven down the price of anything? I mean be fair, this is not a bunch of clapped out rusting hulks off some curb. Indeed there have been persons asking way more for much less.

There are still plenty of homes with kitchens big enough for the group, especially the new "MacMansions". Biggest problem I see of the bat is the colour. Not many aside from retro minded folks are into pink kitchens. Though it would look a treat in some place like Florida.

The Word is Mansion

Did you really look at how many cabinets there are? You could easily do a complete kitchen and sell the leftovers and not really spend alot. They look really clean. Some mothers gold carnuba wax could really go far with these. Not a bad price.

If anyone out there buys this with the intention of selling off the separate parts, I would seriously be interested in the washer/dryer and dishwasher!!

I wonder what brand is the washer/dryer combo, maybe Hamilton? Is it in the last picture? Assume they work since they're just moved from the house.
