We were given one very much like that except with a deep well. That giant Monotube kept the griddle evenly heated at all settings and, as Hans has said, was great for canning.
I have read the owner's manual for that range and the directions for doing a turkey in the Bar-B-Kewer compartment are wild. You turn the bird over half way through the cooking process because the heat only comes from the top. Two ovens would be better.
