The W865 has German and French on the control panel. Could be imported from Luxemburg or Switzerland. It's a 50Hz machine, the electronics might not survive using 240V 60Hz.
Brian: thanks for the Non-suds ID on the Green Maytag
Re the machine in #90: as it turns out it's already sold. I wrote the clown a reasonable letter of inquiry, and got a one-word "sold" back at me. Pisses me off.
foraloysius - good eye, as I don't see on the label, a variance of 50-60hz. What would one need to do to run this, then - step down transformer with 60hz accompany capability?
scoots - then he should pull the ad immediately or he's doing what I see other CL posters are doing - fishing for emails, phone numbers or ? else. Better that it wasn't a suds saver model...but it sparkles.
Have seen a few "European" Miele laundry appliances on eBay or CL in the past.
Since the units were in operation before being offered for sale one was intrigued and contacted Miele USA.
Apparently at one time MieleUSA did offer modification parts so the units could run on American 208v-240v 60/hz power. This is no longer the case IIRC from the technician one spoke with. Also while MieleUSA will service such appliances they offer *NO* warranty. Meaning if something goes wrong you are out of luck.
Seller claims unit was just fitted with a new drain pump so if we take him at his word some way or how the unit is being used. This *could* be a "marine" unit, that is came from a yacht or other such sea going vessel. You find "odd" Miele and other European appliances in South Florida that were taken off yachts for instance.
Electric Washer and Dryer - $110 (northwest tucson)
ad: " ELECTRIC General Electric Washer and Dryer set Heavy Duty $110.00
Dryer with automatic sensor control and works perfect, Washer with 2 speed and with mini wash, works perfect also but has a very small leak only at the beginning, maybe is the hose, because I see the water on the left side of the dryer, but I can not move it, it is to heavy for me. If you have them outside or in the garage would not be a problem, they work very well, but I have wood floor. You pick them up"
That is a 1962 Model 70. Not too many of those pop up, but boy are they handsome. It's almost as if WP overcompensated on the consoles of these models by making them extra tall to make up for the short squat panels given to the 1961 70s.
