A video at last!...I should of held the phone sideways for a wider shot, but here it is!..the motor drips a little from the end with the pulleys on it (its been refreshed by the electric place) and the water valve does not shut off (have to check the water selector switch and water valve wiring) and get a hose for the bleach dispenser and put the bleach level light bulb back in..Other than that its nice and quiet![this post was last edited: 2/5/2016-18:02]

Jerry very nice work. I think you may have posted the first video of a "Potato Pulley", in action. I did not realize their diameter. You have a beautiful Laundromat. Arthur

I had no idea this model stopped when the door was opened.  Very cool.

Jerry, I am with Brent on the door opening stopping the machine.  I had a WCI Laundromat back in the 80's and it did not stop when the door was opened while in operation, or not that my ole brain can remember anyway.  Yep very cool machine, and looks like you may have had some rest before posting this one.

Slant Front WH Washer

Great to see the progress on your washer.

Water not shutting off, if it shuts off when you unplug the washer the inlet valve is working fine, then try taking the air-dome hose off at the pump and try blowing in to it and see if the water shuts off, if not the water level switch is either bad or miss-wired.

It was fun seeing this washer last weekend, let me know what you find out about the water shut off problem.

very very nice!!

Your restoration progress in coming along smoothly! That is a BEAUTIFUL front loader you have there. And of course, me LOVES lights. And the glowing illumination from the bleach dispenser looks awesome!

Windows & lights, my 2 favorite combinations on appliances!

You got a GREAT looking machine there Moparwash!!
:o)

Glad you like it, Hippiedoll!

John - This is what happens with the water valve

Machine Off - Faucet on = No fill

Machine On - Faucet on = Fill

Door Open - Facuet on = Fill

Shut Machine Off - Faucet on = Fill

I have to try the hose from the pump to the water level switch...I don't want to break another nipple off the air dome/pump cover again so Ill have to be real careful or just hook up another hose at the water level switch..Im trying to lube the scraping noise in the video with lithium grease where the pulley goes up and down and has a nylon part in the pulley glide... Ill check the wiring again on that switch. Thanks again for stopping by to check it out![this post was last edited: 2/7/2016-17:37]

I wouldn't worry about that fill valve, Jerry. My old Maytag leaks into the tub, but it is as simple as shutting water off to it when its not in use. Which everyone should do anyways. I was a BPI Energy Auditor before retiring and I have seen so much damage done to a home, just from a burst washer hose that nobody expected because someone was too lazy to shut the water off to it when they were done.

water shut off.

Hello Jerry. I had the same trouble with an older Westinghouse water value. I took it out of the machine, filled it with PB Blaster and let it set overnight, then made an electric cord with wire connectors on it and hooked it to the valve. I plugged it into a surge protector and cycled it on and off several times. The valve began to work normally and I didn't have to tear it apart or spend money on a replacement. This was very easy and quick. Jeff

Over Filling WH Washer

Hi Jerry, in reply #14 you said that the machine does not fill when shut off and then you said it did keep filling when shut off.

Try unplugging the machine, if it keep filling the valve is bad, which I dough since I rebuilt it a month ago, any way let us know what you find out.

Water Fill Test

Here are the results from today's test:

Faucet on, Machine off = Fill

Faucet on, Machine on = Fill

Let tub fill to bottom of door opening, disconnect air dome hose from pump, blow into it, the water level switch it is attached to makes a click sound, but water still enters the tub

Unplug machine = Still fills.

I checked the wires on the water level switch behind the door and they are hooked up the right way, and checked the water valve wires against the wiring diagram and they are hooked up like so. Ill retry the test tomorrow to see if anything changes and I cleaned out the bleach dispenser today
