This is one of the best things that has happened on AW in the last year, and I think that Brain should receive the AW award of the year for making it happen.

I am also very glad that these will go to Andy, when I think of all the great information and videos that you have taken the time to post over the years, getting this CA906 washer and dryer it certainly could not be going to a better place. After the most difficult period you are going through I hope this helps you and your family continue forward in Life.

That's a great story and very generous of you Brian.

This is how it should be: helping other collector's out rather than competing against them.

I have a similar relationship with Nathan (Brisnat81), considering we live pretty close to each other we both saw no point in outbidding each other on ebay etc as we'll both get a chance to play with each others machines. And as we have different brands we like, if someone rings me with a machine i'm not especially interested in but i know Nathan would be, i'll put them onto him.

Thanks, Don. That post right there just made it so that I can enjoy them when they come home. I'm blessed and very humbled to have met the awesome people here on AW. One of these days I'm going to get my stuff together and try a wash in. Lord knows I have enough machines for all to play with...

What a great story...

If we had a short list of testimonials about why I love Automatic washer dot org, this would have to be near the top of the list.

This was a fun story to watch unfold. I happened to notice Phil's post within moments of its arrival. I saw the machines and had to call Andy. That's the call he referred to where I sounded like a kid on Christmas morning as I knew he had been looking for these for a LONG time, thus I have wanted them for him for a long time too. He doesn't ask for much if anything, and I have a few treasures that I use regularly that he found, so its time he got what he wanted also!

Next morning I got up and went directly online to see an update. I noticed that Don had secured them. "Great!" I said to myself, "they've been installed in the club". Several of Phil's finds this past weekend wound up in the club, by the way!! At 1:47am on Sunday night/Monday morning, my cell phone rings. I keep it in the kitchen and I was upstairs. "WAS THAT MY PHONE AT 2AM?!?!?!?" I flew downstairs thinking something was wrong with the family (after last year's loss I pay more attention to late night or odd-time phone calls) and it had been Andy...immediately proceed to play voiemail...call Andy back, he's in San Fran taking care of his Dad. He's riding around in the car with the top down at 11pm trying to process the day's events and absorb the generosity, etc.

So Brian, I heard it from Andy when it was fresh --- you made the Man's day/week, etc and that's really awesome. He was completely stunned. To offer to take the machines out there is even better. Many major kudos to you!!

You'll have to keep us posted Andy on the status of these. I'll try not to nudge...

Some Pics

I unwrapped Drew's machines this afternoon and was inspecting them more closely. I aimed to take daytime pictures, but by the time I got around to it, it was dark, so they are flash. But they're still nice photos. I got permission from Drew to post a few. I thought he might like to see what he's in for.
