Has anyone notice how loud Walmart is lately?

We were at Walmart Hamilton Mill late Friday afternoon for about 2.5 hours. We grocery shopped and got some last minute gift cards. Should not be that big of deal!

That store had every TV set to the highest volume possible. ALL the TV's at the checkout were at high volume also! All 30 of them!

Plus with all the cart noise, people talking and PA system chatter I was in ADHD sensory overload. The woman cashier was rude-big shock! I reached over to get something that she had scanned. She snapped at me "please don't do that! I'm very picky on how I bag items"! All she could say was "thankfully I get off in another hour" over and over and over.

When we got out of there I literally could not concentrate.

Went into Belk at the Mall of GA earlier that day. There was so much stuff packed in that store I could not find where I came in at.

I love the Holidays for family get togethers etc. But I'm getting to the point I hate to go to any store before Christmas for any reason!

Anyone else feel this way? I am not Ebenezer Scourge!

When I drove by some of the shopping center and stores out my way-just kept going-the lots were packed.Don't shop at Wal Mart at all-or at most maybe a couple times per year-now I get to look forward to having a Wal Mart built right in the area I live-right by 3 housing areas-we are signing petitions against the zoning-not sure if it will do any good.Don't want a Wal Mart in my backyard-they can build the dumpy store somewhere else. The noise, clutter, rude salespeople, drive me out of that place. And not to mention--why do the rudest customers shop at Wal Mart-guess to match the rude checkout clerks.

Over crowded Walmart Stores.

When I go shopping at Walmart I usually go around 3 or 4 AM in the morning - This way you can park up front close to the store & pretty much have the store to youreself .

This works well for me as most shoppers are at home in bed & the thugs are pretty much off the streets.

You might also try online shopping - This is a great alternative since most retailers are offering free shipping.

Hope this helps.

Shopping on line

100% of the gifts I bought for my wife (all four of them) this year was done on line and shipped right up to my garage door.

This past Friday was the first time this Christmas season I have actually set foot in the Mall. It was only because my wife wanted to go.

I'm just like Mayguy,

I have not been in a Wal-Mart in years. Last year my partner's mother had us drive her to Wal-Mart for some Serran Wrap or something. She went in alone because the two of us refused to step foot in there.

I go to the local grocers and a local meat market. Sometimes we will stop in to Target but they are a bit pricey now. Anyone from the Northwest probably knows of Bi-Mart and WinCo. Those are my two main stores that I shop at and I never go without a bundle of coupons.

Wal-mart can completely disappear all for the better.

Sounds like the poor cashier was on the verge.

Imagine standing behind a cash register for all those hours having to put up with all that noise - no wonder she was getting snappy. I would hate having to work in that sort of environment. For the few bucks that she gets paid to have to put up with that is cruel.

I went to my local mall the other day looking for some Glitterlava for my niece. Man, did I regret going there. Apart from the crowds pushing and shoving, I was getting really peeved with the piped x-mas music. After two hours of looking for, but not finding anything I wanted to buy, I was ready to mace or taser someone, just for the sake of it.

Merry Christmas

Humbug

I made the mistake of visiting the trifecta: Target, Walmart, Kmart - last Sunday afternoon. Yikes! Pandemonium. At Target one woman demanded to know where I got my umbrella. I was taken back... "It's 30 years old..." I explained. Darned if I can recall where I got it, but it's obviously a good one. LOL.

Crying babies, kids throwing tantrums, people wandering about aimlessly, jabbering in 20 different languages, women shouting in Chinese into cell phones... and then that darned music over the musak systems... I'll be glad when Xmas is over and done with.

We got a new Walmart Supercenter about 2 years ago to replace the aging store which wasn't all that shabby to begin with. The new store's very nice but I agree it is noisy during regular "shopping" hours especially the constant loud announcments over the PA. I left the store one time because I couldn't stand it anylonger. Now I only go really really early in the morning or around 10pm or later when it's not so busy

I too despise Wal-Mart, I go there like 2 times a year for a few things and I really stock up so I dont have to go back.

I made the mistake of going to the mall Saturday, I all I wanted was 3 Hallmark ornaments, gloves from Sears, and hand soap from Bath and Body Works.
It took me an hour to do something simple.
As though it wasnt bad enough because people dont know how to utilize just one space to park in I was like 1/2 mile away and the lot was all ice, then the horrid music, and children throwing tantrums, fat people nearly running you over with their motorized scooters, and what I think is the worst is when a group of people decide to stop right in the middle of the walk way and start talking and prevents you from being able to get through.

I had enough of the madness, and I will not go shopping during the holidays again. I now just by different gift cards from the grocery store where I earn fuel discounts on my shoppers card, and I either buy something online with them or just give a gift card.

Agreed

Wish Wal mart would dive in a huge sink hole. but that would be their own ass most likely.

Wally World People

Well, wow. I had to stop at #8. Ran out of coffee to spew onto the monitor...

I did see something precious when shopping the other day. I *think* it was at the local Pak 'n Save (a bigger version of Safeway). Or maybe it was Lucky's. Or maybe Costco. Or even Target. All I can remember is doing a triple take at a short white woman with the most gigantic butt I've ever seen. Wearing tight jeans, of course. It was like she was packing two or three pairs of beach balls back there. Then, I happened to see her hubbie/boyfriend/whatever walking about five feet to the side of her (no doubt to allow plenty of manuvering space). He had an idential posterior! I must have looked back and forth between the two of them, trying to discern a difference. No luck. Then I spied someone smiling as they watched me watching them. LOL. I shook my head slowly and tried not to think about the vision before I went to bed. So far, I've been successful.

Now, I had my camera phone with me, and I was really tempted, but the dang thing makes a loud "CLICK!" artificial shutter sound that can't be turned off. Too bad. It would have been a classic.

All 142 pages of Wal-Mart People

MY EYES! MY POOR EYES!

Why did I have to look?! Somebody, please, take these visions away. Is this what will happen to people if Walmart comes to Australia?
