Well my new old blendor arrived safely, and after a thurough cleaning I made a berry yogurt smoothie. MMmmmmm... tasty. It works just as well as my modern oster beehive blender & just as noisy too. Well I feel a little silly posting pics of blenders, but here you go!

I definitely want one of those!! BTW speaking of todays arrivals I also got another Hoover blender today as well also avocado but with the glass jar and timer. Works like a charm but a noisy beast. I'll post a pic of it later here once my camera charges up.
OH.. where's the lid for that Waring, was it missing?

Hoover blender

Hi, Mixedup!!! I LOVE that blender you just got. I once bought a Hoover blender at a thift store for $5.00. Mine is very quiet!! I think it was originaly a wedding gift that went 'straight' to the garage. My commercial Vita-Mix 3000 is super loud, especially when making pancake syrup. I love how I can make my own powdered sugar with it too....Bill in Az...

No, the lid was included. I just forgot to put it on for the pic. OOPS. No recipe this time. I had on hand some fresh strawberries, frozen blueberries, vanilla yogurt. Threw them all together with a few ice cubes & gave it a whirl. Smoothie time! Pete, I found another one you might want.

Rocketship Smoothies!

That is a beautiful Blendor! Jon (jetcone) gave me one just like it a couple of years ago. I should finish restoring it...

The fresh strawberries are awesome this time of year - I bought a huge box of them and we've been eating them like crazy!

Hi Mixedup,
Just saw the identical Waring yesterday at the Brimfield Fair. Don't remember the price, but bought a nice chrome beehive like yours for 5$. Lots of fun!

Pete, yeah that is high. The seller I got mine from charged me $14. Plus that one is missing the small inner lid, which I think would be hard to find.

Harvestgold, I don't know exactly, but I was bidding on a recipe booklet (argh I was just sniped out of it) that pictures that blender & is dated 1947.

Bobby, my chrome beehive is modern, a wedding gift from just 1 1/2 years ago. It came from Target & I love it. Luckily retro is in.

Re the other Waring, the guy emailed me back, an additional $4 to Canada shipping, so $26. I'll have to think about it if it's missing a piece..though I do have an extra jar that will fit with lid.
Here's the Hoover I got the other day, another avocado one but this one has the timer and a glass jar. Is in minty shape as well.
