Congratulations..!!!
Hi Darren, well thats fantastic news, all the best to you both...as an uncle to 8 I`ve had the pleasure of washing loads of kidz stuff and you soon learn "your own" tricks of the trade....Personally, 2 sisters (6 nieces & nephews) wash with Ariel bio & comfort pure no probs using Zanussi 1400 Washer Dryers, 1 sister (one niece) washes with Fairy non bio & confort pure using Hottie 860 1600 washer, niece had rashes etc, I suggested cutting down on powder & conditioner adding super rinse, no probs...
I personally say:
Fast Spin Washer with extra rinse / sensitive option, time delay
Ariel bio & confort pure, (use half dosage and a drop of conditioner)
40d for all colours, 60d for nappies , towels etc
Load machine at night using soak option, then using delay start set to complete wash ready for breakfast..will certainly shift all those carrots, tomatoes and egg stains as well as baby vomit and poo (which you sometimes add too yourself in the process of getting used to it,) but hey that soon passes as you gaze down at your own!!!
Baby Bath Washing Tip, hot water and washing up liquid, rinsing very well, then add water, baby oilatum and baby....seen soooo many people bleach the hell out of the bath with a quick rinse and then wonder why the babys skin is pickled!!!
So, take as much and /or as little advice as you need, BUT always adapt and feel comfortable doing it YOUR WAY!!!
Enjoy, Mike
p.s. My sisters hubby had to don a full surgical lab mask when nappy changing, he never gotten used to it and though his problems where over when the "Out of Nappy" phase started!!! little did he know it only got worse as he was passed the used potty for him to flush, which in his mind / reaction was even worse...Oh dear!!
