Last nite at 7:00PM I went down to my fully restored 1976 3 Speed Frigidaire 1-18 Coppertone washer to wash out my blue jeans which got rust stains on them from moving the airconditioners into storage!

I set the dial for 12 minute wash!

When I got up this morning at 7:00 AM what I heard was the washer!

I got a 12 HOUR wash! I had no idea the 12 on the frigidaire dial meant 12 HOUR WASH!

See the photographic evidence Below!

Jetcone OY VAYS MERE! And FEH To lint filters!

HOLY COW!

Looks like the washer ate the jeans....
Jeans are replacable, those beautiful machines are not...
How is the washer after its 12 run? I'd be afraid of burning out the motor!

Jon, That is so funny! I had the same thing happen to me with my 1971 1-18. Only it was a whole load of clothes, and I was doing housework instead of sleeping. After hearing the "thunka-thunka-thunka for a couple of hours, and not really paying attention,I snapped to my senses any ran downstairs to the machine. the suds were all over the top of the machine, and lint was everywhere in the suds. The clothes were ok,and the problem was just the timer motor. I bought a used timer motor for $20.00,and used the machine for a few more years. Hope that is all that is wrong with your 1-18.

Good heavens, it looks like a slimy blue battlefield inside there! Let's see, that works out to be nearly the eqivalent of 48 wash cycles, doesn't it?

You can sell those jeans as 'custom distressed' with all of us as your witnesses, LOL!
