Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Toggle,

I love that Maytag Dependable Care. Beautiful TOL model IIRC. I guess it must be from around 1997? I think that model was on the Maytag website when I found my way to the internet in that year. Maytag had a very simple website with a lot of drawings, I guess a website with a lot of pictures was too expensive. A lot has happened since that time!

Hugs from the other side of the big pond,

Toggles and Austin: I had absolutely no idea there existed a Kenmore with a spin-drain! Nor have I ever seen a KM with a GE-style guard at the top of the tub before.

How long did KM produce such models?

Wow, a person really does learn something new every day!

Lineup

The only criminal involved was the company that made the machines! Who else would make a front loader with no window?

Just kidding, I like classic Maytags after the lid switch has been fixed.

Yes Jason. It is going to be fixed this weekend so I can watch the action.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

P.S. Your machines aren't bad either!

Spin dry Kenmore

I had a 24" kenmore that went directly into spin. At first I thought there was something wrong with the clutch slipping, but realized there was no pause in the timer after a few minutes of drain.

Answer to Toggleswitch re: use of "Sport" cycle on

Here is it, copied from the pdf manual:

"Sport
This cycle is designed for small loads of lightweight, synthetic
apparel worn for working out, running, swimming, cycling,
tennis and similar activities when removal of light soil and
perspiration are important. Items will tumble occsionally as they
soak for 10 minutes. Reversing tumble wash action will
continue for 6 minutes followed by 3 rinses and a final spin.
For best results, select a detergent that contains enzymes and
the hottest wash water safe for the load. Add a detergant
booster, color safe bleach or odor eliminator with the detergent
if needed. Chlorine bleach should not be used on items
containing Lycra™. Fabric softeners reduce wicking and are
not recommended for garments made to pull moisture away
from the body."

This would be useful for a family with lots of kids in sports like football, baseball, soccer, etc.

oop

well, maybe not football or baseball. This cycle doesn't sound as if it's meant for ground-in dirt. It sounds like it's for loads of sports clothes with lots of perspiration but not a lot of ground-in dirt. Most of my athletic clothes are cotton, so the cycle is rarely used.

No arms and No legs

A women posted a classified and said she wanted a man who wouldn't beat her, wouldn't leave her and was great in bed.

The door bell rang a few days later and there was a man with no arms and no legs.

"Can I help you," she inquired?

"Yes," the man replied, "I am responding to your ad."

"I don't understand," the women said.

"I can't hit you, I have no arms and I can't leave you, I have
no legs."

"But, I wanted someone great in bed," lamented the women.

"How do you think I rang the doorbell," the man replied.

Have you seen Gary juggle those blue balls? I understand no feet are involved.

Its hard not to be jealous when two amazing people, with so many excesses of personality, intellect, beauty and material gifts combine. It is good to witness. It's kind of like watching an old movie where the heroes ride off into the sunset on a highways of suds.

I love you guys. NO ONE deserves it more. Live, love, wash and "juggle" to your hearts content and let the old women rend their garments in despair.

Now this is a thread worth pursuing.
