Changing out the agitator is easy enough though I'm clutching the pearls at the idea of this Kenmore defiled with a Whirlpool surgilator. lol

How did you add a waterfall style manual clean lint filter?

Any pictures?
Did you remove the tub side filter or did this have a basket mounted filter?

Lint filter addition

This washer originally came with a self cleaning lint filter mounted to the bottom of the basket. When I removed the basket of the machine to patch rust, I notified the lint filter was not looking too good, so I removed it from the machine, and I still have it hanging up on the wall. Wanting some form of lint filter, and since I’ve always liked the waterfall style, I decided to convert it, I put a new tub cover in, which was needed anyway as the old one was missing the metal snubber plate, and when the original pump failed several years back, I had mistakenly ordered a three port pump. I swapped in the three port pump in place of the other two port pump that was already in the machine, and connected some clear hose I bought at Home Depot. Now the Manual Clean lint filter works as it should, and IMHO collects more lint than the self cleaning lint filter did.

As for the Whirlpool agitator, I still have the dual action agitator for this machine, as well as the proper fabric softener dispenser for it. That is the current agitator that is in the machine, I just didn’t have a recent enough picture with both the Dual-action and the lint filter :-)

My Siemens washer and dryer in the laundryroom. And the LG Turbodrum in the bathroom that I use as an extra laundry basket. Once a year it gets used to wash electric blankets.

Not in the pictures the little dancing AEG Lavamat 220 that resides in the basement. Still not unpacked after almost 4 years I moved here. Yes, I know!

Wonder if Todd in Calif. would LOVE this.

#20 Henry, that's great ingenuity and very close to what WP would have done.  I've no doubt it's working great for you.

Beautiful machines! Here’s a few photos I’ve taken. From left to right: my 2017 Speed Queen 8 series, 1988 Hotpoint rimflo, my 1978 Maytag A-208, 1993 Kenmore direct drive 80 series, 1989 BOL kenmores.

Figured I’d hop back in with more pictures!

Here’s a full picture of my entire collection. From Left to Right: The 1978 Maytag A408S, The 1989 Maytag A482 (Helical Transmission!), The 1986 Kenmore 70 Series, The 2001 Kenmore Elite Catalyst, and the little guy, The 1994 Kenmore Portable!

I also found a picture of the UNMODIFIED Kenmore 70 Series from a year or so ago!
