Terry recently asked where I got Watkins Flavorings, Watkins used to be a door to door company similar to Stanley Products or the Rawleigh co, here is there website....www.JRWatkins.com Watkins Inc Winona MN 55987-0570 Sometimes Wal Mart of all places has Watkins stuff, I got my last bottle in Wilson NC at an old hardware store.

You're a Peach

Thank you for the lead Hans.  I realize I could have looked myself but didn't take the time and now I'll order it.  I loved the cake!  Made it at mom's today and they're eating it with strawberries and whipped cream.

After seeing your post, I thought of a pair of milkglass salt and pepper shakers with screw on tops my mom bought from a friend who was doing some fundraising for some organization by selling, I think it was, Watkins. The big selling point about the product was that the pepper was ground in such a way that there was no dust to make you sneeze.

After that I thought of another old flavoring, vanilla butter nut flavor. I have an old recipe from a friend long since gone for a pound cake using that flavoring. I went online and found a kosher version of it and ordered a 4 bottle box so maybe I can bake the cake.

Thanks again

Hi Tom, I have bought the vanilla butter nut flavoring down here at Publix.  It was the McCormick brand.

I've seen the Watkins stuff at Target here as well. I usually get mine (along with their wonderful dessert mixes) from a distributor in southern Oregon that works the county fair.
