Too cool! Thanks for the interior shots Graham. So this set is from 1955.It is wonderful to see a set from the early days. I would consider this to be a very rare set.
It's odd that my parents bought a dryer in 1955, but did not purchase an automatic washer until 1957 when they bought the Kenmore washer. Prior to that, mom had an Easy spin dryer and the GE dryer exactly like yours.
I can recall that my father set the Kenmore up so that part of the old Easy was used as a suds saver for the Kenmore. It wasn't too long before the Easy was gone from the basement altogether, so my mother must not have liked using the suds saver very much. I remember my father "gutting" the Easy and asking what was up with that. I was a very young kid then, so this is a very early memory for me. It is too funny, the things one remembers.... It proves that I must have had an affection for washing machines, even at only a couple years old. <:
