Still waiting for them here in the Bay Area.

Sprouts backed out of moving into an old (as in 1947) OSH building.  I would love it if ALDI went in there.  I could practically walk to it.

Aldi related...

I shop a lot at Aldi, but the other day I tried their return policy, not what I thought it was.  I was out of Dawn dish detergent, and intended to buy the big 3 qt. bottle when I picked up some things elsewhere.  So I grabbed a bottle of their store brand dish detergent, blue like dawn, but that is as far as it goes.  Had to be some of the most god awful detergent I've ever used.  Suds broke down almost immediately, did not get grease or cooking oil off my hands, all around bad stuff.  Took it back expecting double my money, but what I got was another product, no money back.  Asked the manager and she said I had to choose something else in the cleaning isle.  Not what I wanted.  Only thing I found was a small bottle of Dawn, so I took that.  I really just wanted the cash.

Wow, that's not good.

Aldi in Australia has a great returns policy - if you are not satisfied for ANY reason, full money back within 60 days of purchase. No questions asked. Every item in the store.

I have had to make use of their returns policy a few times, they have always been great about it.

You know

speaking of dish liquid. I agree. The Brand Names are so much better than the store brands....And over the years, on TV, they tell you they are no different and sometimes store brands are better, but I have rarely found this to be the case - once in a while I find a store brand that is good, but 99% of the time it's not.

I had been buying the Target Up and Up Blue formula dish detergent for a few months and it had been performing very good, about like Dawn. Then about a month ago I thought I would try Ivory Dish detergent again, I hadn’t used it in several years. Wow, what a mistake! It’s now clear, but the bottle is white, so I couldn’t tell that it had changed. It doesn’t smell the same, its watery and doesn’t make lots of suds or cut grease well. like it used to. So, I bought a bottle of the Up and Up Blue the next week, and I’ll be damned if they hadn’t watered it down too! So, from now on I’m going to stick with Dawn or Palmolive Green, and hope they don’t mess with the formulas of these too.
