my dream kitchen

Paul your kitchen is so so nice, you should be very proud of all your hard work. Turquoise just seems to make one feel good! I bet it is a joy to work in this kitchen. Terry

Wow! You have really created a beautiful space. I'm envious! I remember the original thread about the kitchen center and wanted it so much. You have outdone anything I could have. Now it's time to enjoy it and of course... VIDEOS!!!

and furthermore,

BTW, I like the way all the primary colors are represented and balanced by that light wood stain. I'll tell you right now I intend to copy(read: steal) this design at some point in the future. I've always wondered if there were(are) ways to put some of our favorite retro appliance colors into a contemporary scheme and you've done it!

I'd love to see if anyone could design as pleasing a kitchen with Avocado appliances, I think that would be the most difficult finish to use.

You did an outstanding...

job with this kitchen. Love the color turquoise. Makes me think of the Southwest. I can invision this picture of your kitchen in a 50s House Beautiful magazine.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! It can be a challenge to find the right balance of old and new but you pulled it off just wonderfully!

P.S. Jim, you just had to bring up the washer, didn't you? LOL

Jim, find me the wiring diagram and I'll figure it out!!

lol
Seriously, I am sure that I mis-wired something so that's why the washer is still not 100% functional - but it works as a washer and that is still something! I do solemnly swear to post a video of the 'maiden wash'!
Dynaflow - the can opener is a Maid Of Honor (Sears sold that brand I think...) and the toaster is actually a Coronet (scored that one in Richmond BC on a business trip)
Chuck - the microwave is almost vintage - it's the first appliance I ever bought brand new! It's a MOL 1986 Kenmore (made by Samsung). I think I may need a RadarRange, though...
Ken - I am flattered that you find the design good enough to steal! lol I would love to take a run at an all-avocado kitchen; I had an avocado kitchen in one of our former homes (kept the 78 Kenmore Dishwasher, fortunately)!
And thanks again, everyone, for all your good wishes!
I keep saying it, but there will be an opening party - hopefully early this summer!
And, to anyone who may be in the area, please contact me if you'd like to drop in and visit!

Turquoisedude!

That has to be the most AWESOME kitchen I have laid eyes on......Truly a work of art! Awesome job dude!
I just wish I could re-model my house like that.....our house is 78+ years old and has a lot of character with arched doorways and all plaster walls and ceilings.....just don't know where to start to make it look as amazing as yours does.....congratulations on a job very well done!
Mark
