I just picked this up at Savers for $2.50.  I've seen other pieces in this motif/pattern, but all it says on the bottom is "West Bend."  Does it have a name and any interesting back story?

It measures 5+" high (not including the lid) and is 6+" across at the top.

This is part of a baked bean pot set. My Mom had one of these that she bought in about 1960. It came with 6 small "crocketes" in the same pattern for serving and an electric hot plate that the large crock sat on. As I recall the hot plate didn't get hot enough to actually cook baked beans, but it would keep them hot enough to serve at a buffet.

Neat!  I swear I saw an ad for one like this where West Bend called it their 'Patio Server'.  If you need a base, let me know, they turn up in the thrift stores here from time to time.

If brown...

It WAS called the Bean Pot, in the white color it was called a Patio Server, same thing,,,,but different color!!. It will cook, but like a CrockPot on low.

Thanks for all of the great information!

I found pictures of the warming element on line.  I've seen many of them in thrift stores over the years and never knew what they were for because they were always separated from the pot.

Paul, thanks for your offer, but there's no need to go to the trouble.  I like the piece as is, and will likely use it as a Patio Server by itself.   If I happen upon a warming base -- and it's possible the one for this pot is kicking around at Savers right now -- I'll grab one, but for now I'm viewing it as just another thing to have to store.

I swear I've seen this pattern on other things, like on the handles of wooden salad utensils, but I could be thinking of something not exactly the same.

Meanwhile, July 4th is almost upon us and I'll be hosting what seems to have become my annual 7/4 bar-b-que, so the Patio Server will be making its debut soon.
