I have a western auto supply company wringer washing machine that I got from Craigslist.com. The wringer works, (motor comes on) but I can not get the agitator to engage. I want to take the thing apart but really dont know what I am doing. I think (but not sure) to get to the motor just by looking at everything, I have to take the agitator off, then remove the tube and I should be able to see the motor, belt, and every thing else. But when I remove the agitator, I dont know what to do next. I hope someone can help me or knows who I can talk to.. I have pictures to show.

don't remove pin

You have to undo the screws at the bottom and the whole thing will lift out in one piece. It's probably the engaging spring which you can get to underneath the machine. Follow the agitator engage switch on the side of the machine and follow the linkage to the bottom and over. If wringer works, then tranny shouldn't be the problem. With a Speed Queen the trannys rarely go. This is in fact a Speed Queen with a rebadge.

Screws...

I have unbolted all 6 screws in the bottom of the tub... I can lift the shaft up about and inch then it stops... it seems that something is holding it like a pin or something.. I should get my HD video camera out and make a short video of what this thing is doing..

I would really like to get this working. This would fit really well in my laundry mat I have here at home....
