Nice job cleaning up the coffee makers. I'm proud of ya that you got it done without a Carucelle or whatever that plastic dw thingie was named ;-)

The Westinghouse sure does look like it needs a run in the dishwasher too. I hope the gang here can hook you up with a fresh boot. The drum looks great. Shouldn't be too hard to rewire the power cord to be three wire grounded. If you can find a nice heavy duty extension cord, you can just hack off about six feet at the plug end and use that.

45 miles each way isn't bad. This morning I took a trip 40 miles each way to pick up the Superba 21 KS/Hobart dishwasher. Except I got a bit lost on the way down and it turned into 80 miles to get there. At 15 mpg in my pickup, it starts to get expensive, too.

This is just a GUESS on my part (I'm sure that someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong) but the fact that the power cord doesn't have a grounding wire and the cold water hose connector is metal leads me to suspect that grounding may have been accomplished via the cold water hose. Early Frigidaires were grounded that way.

Good luck with the machine. I hope that the restoration isn't that time consuming or difficult. Hopefully, someone will come along and solve the mystery of the hose connectors.

This is one of my favorite machines. I have the upscale version and had it up and running for the first time today (with filterflo's help) the bad news, it needs a speed changer and tub bearings and seals and a new boot. I couldn't let it die gracfully so if any one has any of these parts please let me know. The good news, these are great fun to watch.

Hmmm the cold-water-side grounding makes a great deals of sense, TYVM.

I have a feeling one I have gotten this one like-new, I will have put myself on the path of a very fulfilling hobby!

WOOHOO!! Congrats Steve...I know you'll have it up and running with little effort; that splashy action is worth it!

You're not the only one; my AMP's water valve is half-plastic as well. I wonder why they did that?
