Hey Guys, as long as Westinghouse is the subject here I'm making my plea again and hoping one of you fans will be able to steer me in the right direction for replacement "Corox" burner elements on a 1949 Westinghouse electric range, model E64-49. The ones the guy on eBay is selling currently are not the right vintage. Any leads would be appreciated. I think this particular burner design was used by Westinghouse from the late 40's into the early 50's. I really thought after finding this site that tracking down these coils would be a cinch, but geez, these things are turning out to be a seriously rare find. What's up with that?
Mark, the stove in question is still in daily use. My parents outfitted their brand new 1949 tract home kitchen with Westinghouse. The frig gave up the ghost in a heat wave about a year ago, as it had long been relegated to the garage, but the stove has been in regular use since day one. I've heard similar reports to what has been stated here about the quality of Westinghouse products in later years, but I guess going into the 60's they were still building stuff to last.
I'm fairly new to this site too, and am still exploring it. Definitely enjoying reading posts from guys with similar interests! The "Super" version of Discuss-O-Mat rules! Welcome aboard!
