Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

No....;-(((

I can't hear that there's no Westinghouse washers more...:-((

It was thank to a Westinghouse license (under Marshall plane, after IIWWar))that here in Italy become possible to produce washers in the 1956, then in the 1958 we went on alone but all started by Westinghouse... perhaps if it weren't been like so, we wouldn't ever had the washer here!

Welll... sometimes something sad happens...

Hey Skip:
when does the vac hunt begin?..keep me posted!! sure hope you find the goodies your looking for. take care/mark

It depends on the country

In australia, we still have a full lineup of westinghouse products.

They're now all of the same design as our other domestic products, however the name lives on.

Hoover used to be the premium domestic product name, until the license to use the word expired this year. Now Westinghouse is our premium domestic product lineup.

Hey Guys, as long as Westinghouse is the subject here I'm making my plea again and hoping one of you fans will be able to steer me in the right direction for replacement "Corox" burner elements on a 1949 Westinghouse electric range, model E64-49. The ones the guy on eBay is selling currently are not the right vintage. Any leads would be appreciated. I think this particular burner design was used by Westinghouse from the late 40's into the early 50's. I really thought after finding this site that tracking down these coils would be a cinch, but geez, these things are turning out to be a seriously rare find. What's up with that?

Mark, the stove in question is still in daily use. My parents outfitted their brand new 1949 tract home kitchen with Westinghouse. The frig gave up the ghost in a heat wave about a year ago, as it had long been relegated to the garage, but the stove has been in regular use since day one. I've heard similar reports to what has been stated here about the quality of Westinghouse products in later years, but I guess going into the 60's they were still building stuff to last.

I'm fairly new to this site too, and am still exploring it. Definitely enjoying reading posts from guys with similar interests! The "Super" version of Discuss-O-Mat rules! Welcome aboard!

Westinghouse Computer

I was in a computer store the other day and saw a whole line up of Westinghouse flat screen computer monitors, complete with the encircled W logo on the front of it.
I wonder who is making these?

final pic of converto vac

look in the upper left hand side of the pic and you can see how the handle is made like a A-frame

Westinghouse strato canister vac

Look how the strato caniser is made very similar to the converto vac

Gerald's

Hey Mark,

to be honest it was a big disappointment as Gerald had told me He had some really old Vacuums in the outside building,Wrong all that was there was some broken Windsors, a broken Rainbow and like 2 old Kirbys and alot of Kirby attachments and one commercial Floor polisher that the motor is burnt. But on the positive bside he still has that Kirby 561 that I almost bought but He wants to hold on to it because he knows the Guy that brought it in well over a year ago to be repaired and still hasn't pick it up yet. So I told Gerald I will check back in a couple of months to see if the guy pick it up yet.
