If you only knew what goes on behind the scenes at these shows, you'd be amazed at the amount of money spent by the exhibitors on those dogs. When a dog wins, it becomes very desirable very quickly. There is a lot of money involved in this. And you would not believe how competitive it is! Even though it's a dog show, many cat fights break out between exhibitors!
I'm glad the Beagle won. Those are fun little dogs. Our news last night got it wrong. They stated a Golden Retriever won.
We missed the broadcast this year, family in town. A Beagle won Best In Show a few years ago and we all cheered for him. My son and I had a Beagle, Jack, before our current Pug, Newton. Jack (a.k.a. Digger) was a sweet and loving dog but likely one of the dumber creatures ever put on the earth. Like most Beagles, he was a runner and I'd said from when he was a pup that if he met an early end, it would be under the wheels of a car. Alas, the premonition came true. :-(
My Max, who was a rescue dog, is supposidly Beagle and Shepherd. His bark is more the Shepherd but his nose and excaping is a beagle. He looked more like the winner last year, but is still a mutt. He is a good, loving guy and I still love him just the same. But this STUPID Windows 8.1 refuses to let me post his picture.
