BAKE you say?

When I worked in an exclusive (read: snooty) country club in a suburb of NYC in my youth, I'd have a hard time watching as trays of lobsters went into the fiercly hot broilers. The broilers were open-fronted and just below eye-level. The chef would split the lobsters' undersides open and stick-em in the cooker, tray after tray.

Actually, I found it quite distasteful to see them start thrashing about in there.

Death in one room. Rejoicing, dancing and feasting in the adjoining one.

Look a the hope in his big bright eyes

I am currently minding a few cats and their owner, while things are in transition for her. I am a great animal lover and enraged past all reason when children or adults torment and torture them. I saw a man walking his dog one day, and HE was going to throttle a feral cat who was "bothering" them. I stopped my car, and instead of saying what I wanted to, I said I was concerned because I thought the man was going to have a heart attack. He was going to strangle the cat and throw her into the woods. The cretins across the street from me kept their Tuxedo Manx pregnant round the clock, because Mrs. Cretin "loved" kittens. Very few survived into adulthood, due to one dog down the street, three hawks on my block, and stupidity of the owners. My friend has two black and white Manx survivors. On the lighter side, here's Nick. He's almost 13.

So disgusting. The 17-year and 19-year old boys duct-taped
the 3-month old puppy's mouth shut and tied its feet together.
They doused it with paint and tried to set it on fire. When
that didn't work they put it in the oven. Another brother said
he didn't do anything because the puppy probably died pretty
quickly - in the first hour and a half. *^%$*^%)(&%#@)&@%

And they had to be tried twice because one juror refused to
convict in the first trial. They apparently confessed and
had bragged to friends about it, but the juror said enough
evidence had not been presented for her to find them guilty.

This happened here yesterday--or maybe recently. But it was on the local news last night a less than 6-month old kitten was found in the middle of a street by a lady, burned. I am not a cat liker or lover, but this brought me sobbing. I hope to hear about an update on the little guy. I still almost tear up when I think of the motional scars that cat will czrry for life. And to top it off, a man in Waco is being sought for dousing his mother, her sister, and another lady with gasoline, setting them on fire, all due to a domestic disturbance/argument. He'd pulled a knife on his mother and her friends came to her rescue.

Kitten in Temple update

WAS on the 6 o'clock news. the kitten was taken to a local animal hospital. He's been adopted by one of the Vet's employees and should be going home in a few weeks with his new, very loving owner.

How very Cruel, and the poor kitten in a cage with no hope of escape. Sure hope the Judge considers a couple of summers of enforced voluntering in an animal shelter ALL DAY LONG, throw in the holiday breaks too. Might makem better people.

My 2 cents....

The little brats are sick. Life in prison sounds about right, if a bit lenient, to me. I'm glad the kitten was adopted by someone who will know how to care for him properly, and I hope his life is better and longer than that of the girls.

2 cents late at night

Do not hear me say I like my head buried in the sand, but also as Toggles said, let the cosmos deal with these losers.
