I spend half my day in a soulless little cube and the other half driving around in a little white Prius, going to private homes and construction sites, talking to people about their electrical service. I handle everything from high bill complaints and questions about appliances, to new residential construction, some of which gets pretty fancy. (the latest trend among the waterfront set seems to be elevators and lap pools with simulated waves) <br
Sometimes I'm all butched up: hard hat, gloves, Carhart, but most of the time I wear a simple fleece with the company logo, and a sedate ID necklace ;-) <br
What I like about my work: The people (mostly - although some can be a real pain) and seeing all the various houses in my district. Working with electricians, who seem to be the most patient people in the world. Learning about the transmission and distribution system. The beautiful scenery here in Seattle. <br
What I don't like: Dog poop. Mud. Rain that gets all my paperwork wet.
