I'm not buying myself anything this year, but last year I bought myself a diamond ring, 3/4 carat total weight. Heather, were in WI are you moving to?

Bought a Bose docking station for my Ipod and a week in Gran Canaria. That'll do for this year!! Pot Noodle anyone?

We are moving to Salem, just outside of Kenosha. Husband got a job in Racine. I see you are pretty far up in WI. I have been to Rice Lake and Shell Lake many years ago with a friend. It is beautiful there!

Pyrex bowls

Everyone I know (even those not blessed with an eye for vintage ;-) loves those primary colored pyrex bowls. Why they don't reintroduce them is beyond me. An updated dishwasher-safe version of the set would sell like crazy.

What did I get myself this year for Christmas???

Well... after my relationship of the last 12 & half years went down toilet a couple months ago... I decided to treat myself to a 2 week trip to the Philippines to get away, met some new friends and to have some umm, fun....... ;- )

BTW....

I just got back from my trip a week a week and a half ago, on Dec 12!

AND.... actually the REAL reason I want to the Philippines was ONLY to pick up some Laundry soap for Maggie-Hamilton that is only available in Asia. Hahaha. NOT!

As far as I know, "PRIDE" is only available in the Philippines... Available from the large 2 kg. bags, down to the single use packets.

And while we do have "SURF" her in the USA... we do not have the Kalamansi scented SURF here.

Kalamansi's (as I know them) are part of the "lime" family, abundant in S.E. Asia, but mostly in the Philippines, but are only about an inch in diameter and have a very unique flavor (much different from the "Key" limes).

Ben, I think you can buy a wife in Russia? I know a guy who lives close to me who ordered her from a service of some kind? He asked me to play the organ for the wedding the night before the weddding. That didn't happen. Have fun. Gary

That's great Heather, my sister and her family live in Kenosha. Might just have to try and catch you home sometime when we're down for a visit.

Scott's new Yamaha RX-Z11.....

O.M.G!!!!!!! Scott I am J E A L O U S!!!!! I have had Yamaha surround processor amps since the DSP A-1 (still have it). I currently have an RX-V2400. I would have the T.O.L. RX-Z11, but at this point in my life just can't quite justify it.

Sorry to hear about your relationship too Scott.

I have never had a Christmas tree or seasonal decorations of any sort in my adult life. Just wasn't into it.

On a whim, I went shopping for those very things, today, and snagged some amazing bargains. At first, I figured I'd just store it all 'til next Christmas...

...but once it was all home, I decided to decorate the house! Up goes the tree and all the trimmings; all the decorations are going up, as well.

Also bought mini lights and garland and wreaths and knick-knacks and a nativity scene. This is going to be fun. What the hell, I'll leave them up for a month and enjoy the season a tad late.

Yay!! Merry Christmas, everyone!!

This is my 3rd. I had the older dspa1000, then to the dspa1 and now this one. I cant find anything else worth a look. Though i did look at the TOL denon, but i figured if ive been happy this far with yamaha, should stick with what works....You know how it is...lol If your ever in the Chicagoland area your always welcome to check out a flick and/or jam. Maybe by then i will have it out of the box and off my kitchen floor.

Ok so where are the pics?

Congratulations Eugene. Hey, leave everything up all year. I've done that twice, but then again, that's another issue alltogether for me.

I'm notorious for not changing anything in my house, but I don't think I'll leave the Christmas stuff up til next year. One thing I learned: Wear long sleeves when erecting a Christmas tree! My arms and hands look like they were attacked by a claw-happy cat.

I put mini lights around the frame of the picture window in my dining room, but it needs garland, too. The lights look OK at night, but in the stark light of day, all those wires are not pretty.

I'll post pics tomorrow when I get the bulbs on the tree. I'm excited about all this, but compared to the decorating many of you do, mine is nothing much. I can certainly understand, now, why people love to make the house festive this time of year!

Mine was kind of a forced gift to me!

My Buick Park Avenue was giving me more trouble than I wanted to invest in. I got a call from someone who wanted to sell Chuck and I a typewriter collection. When I went to see what he had in his climate controlled/carpeted garage, I saw this Mercedes proudly sitting there. The gentleman told me that he was selling off a bit of his belongings, as he was nearing 80yrs old, and that the Mercedes was probably going to go!

Long story short...we negotiated, the Buick is retired and I now have one of my dream cars! I have always loved this model and color combo!

Excuse the filthy driver side mat. We just had a snow storm and it got very messy :-)

Why Veg, I'm glad you asked!

It has three settings AND a headlight!!!

I love this little vac, although one of the vacuum guys I go to told me there was no way to get bags. I'll have to try the other one and see what he says.

Bags are no longer available for those Sunbeam vacuums other than the occasional ones that may pop up on Ebay. One of the vac club members recently sold the blue model along with a few bags he had been saving. Otherwise he was trying to fashion a bag to fit from another style bag, that might be the only hope. There was also something else about those in the way they are constructed iirc that the dirty air passes right over the motor first. Anyways I'd be careful and not really use it. I don't know if that thread is archived on VCCC or not if I find it I'll bring it back.

I think Tania, in Milwaukee, in the Vacuum Club has bags for those, if I recall correctly...

She may be worth getting in touch with!

Hi Kevin

Thanks!! I do love it :-) It is an 88 with only 103K on it. I have a friend, who collects MB, look it over(he took 3hrs including the test drive) and his reaction was that it was nearly new. The engine oil is still clear.

The windshield happened about a week after I got it. I was driving in a snowstorm and a truck in front kicked a stone into the windshield. It was fully covered by my insurance and is now replaced. I took the pictures last week!
