What do you buy YOURSELF for Christmas?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Shane, I bought a 2008 Volvo S60 2.5T AWD. It's kind of like the sedan equivalent to the XC70 Cross Country wagon. Hopefully we'll get some snow here this year so I can try out the all-wheel drive.

Your directions were great! Did you not get my e-mail? You were right about the address change; the house is now 108.

An Orgasm

You marry and old, disgusting rich man and you have him take you to a car dealership.
And you say "I can't decide between the Jag or the Mercedes" and he says "Take 'em both"!
You will have an orgasm like you never had before.

Jewish Christmas by Joan Rivers

"It sucks being a Jew during Christmas.
All we get is a lousy Menorah that some Puerto Rican lights the wrong way at Temple. Right to left going in, left to right being lit, Jose.
This year, I am going for broke on Christmas, Jew or not.
I'll have the tree, the decorations, even the manger scene.

My manger scene will be a little different: I'm Jewish, so the baby will have a Nanny figure.
Mary will be dressed in Chanel.
"Look good,Mary.
"Take off the schmata and pull your self together, you're the mother of G-d for Chrissake."

I bought some home theater stuff off of E-bay. I have that nice stack of Crown and QSC amps that I bought from Tower records when they went out of business last year, so I coupled them to a Lexicon DC-2 preamp/surround sound DSP I recently purchased off of Ebay. The Crestron screen you see on the coffee table there I got from a job I did at work ,but I didn't have a control processor, so that's an other Christmas purchase to myself. The system is now complete, and man does it sound good watching movies on my projector.

Now, I just gotta get the walls painted and hang the screen back up... it sucks watching pictures on bare plaster walls!

well i've just been in hospital for a third lot of surgery so since i have to spend a lot of time in bed recovering over christmas i have surrounded myself with a few comforts. I rearranged my room around and got a new television since the old one was broken, a few new boxsets of DVD's (such as On the Buses, Keeping Up Appearances and Doctor Who series three). Also an Ipod Nano as my old MP3 went a bit funny and conked out halfway through songs nearly everytime i used it. So yeah i dunno what i'm getting for xmas but will see, for now i'm happy tho :-)- bit bored tho lol

Best Wishes to all in the Christmas Season

I went a little nuts this year...

And I bought this very cool 1956 GE all-electric kitchen with the matching refrigerator! If it looks familiar, 58limited had posted this to the site a while back. Much to my partner's chagrin, I bought it and had it trucked in from Texas! It will actually be delivered to me tomorrow! YAY! Christmas came early this year!!

Paul, what a fantastic gift, It is just beautiful. Please keep us posted. It will be interesting to see if the appliances are still working.

I treated myself to:

1) a 42" LCD HDTV and digital HD service
2) a HD DVD player
3) a Nikon Digital camera and HD color photo printer
4) new clothes
5) a Cuisinart 14 cup food processor

And, I'm not sure I'm done yet!! Merry Christmas to me.

Well the TV in the bedroom died a couple of weeks ago so we got a Toshiba 32" LCD flat panel. We also picked up a beverage fridge so that the pop cans and beer don't take up room in the main fridge anymore. And most importantly, most needed and most expensive is a whole house standby generator that is being installed today and tomorrow after waiting 3 months for it to arrive. The electricity seems to be going out more often where I live and for longer periods at a time. And since both my partner and I have sleep apnea and use CPAP machines, we can't go without electricity for extended periods of time.

Doctor Who Series 3

Matthew,

You're going to love Series 3. In my opinion, though, it has quite a different feel than Series 1 and 2. Enjoy. And, I hope your recovery goes well. Will you be with family?

Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas.

Mike

me thinks..

some new clothes for me... Express had a sale last week, for every $50 you spend, you get a coupon for $25 back.
The deal starts today, so I am going after I go to the gym. If I can spend $200(yeah right like thats a problem) I'll get $100 off...

Another thing I want to buy myself

A freakin' bullhorn w/sirens and all that other crap on it,
so I can yell at all the idiot drivers in rush hour traffic.
Turn on the siren to make slow folks doing 45 in the fast lane move over....yada yada yada.

Just being able to blurt out to someone "Hey you &^%$ing MORON, where did you get your driver's license? A Wal*Mart Kiosk?, would make me feel a whole lot better.
But around here, they probably wouldn't understand it in English, so I will have to get that phrase translated.

I think the 1 finger salute is universal though. LOL

I'm sorry, I am all stressed out and no one to choke.

Back to work.....

Carol, sweetie, I'm there with you on the bullhorn. Or something. Yesterday evening I got stuck behind an IDIOT doing (slightly) LESS THAN 30 MPH in a FIFTY MPH ZONE. I couldn't pass 'cause of oncoming traffic, sparse though it actually was, the spacing is the key. Happens FREQUENTLY on that particular stretch, but there's no other way to get where I hafta go.

I seem to get stuff for myself year-round, so I don't usually do anything special for Xmas. But my last two big purchases were a notebook computer and a stainless tool chest - both of which I need for my job.

Today I'm giving co-workers some fresh limes from my tree. Must be a couple hundred pounds there.

I should have bought a spell-checker, and typing teacher on

if u cn rd ths mssg u 2 can get a gd job as a crt stngrphr.

I bought myself a new and decent personality; but it didn't fit so I had to return it!

FEH!

Pyrex Primary Bowls

I broke my large yellow one from the Primary set so I got myself a new one. It's my favorite bowl EVER and I had to replace it quickly! They are the best bowls for mixing and baking (ham and scalloped potatos are perfect in the yellow one). Sorry the pic is so big! It is from 35mm film that was developed at Walgreens and put onto a disc. Their photofinishing is poor but they were the closest (bad excuse I know).

The movers are coming the day after Xmas at 8am so we are trying to get everything done before they come! It's crazy.

Happy Holidays to ALL!!

Heather
