what do you shave with?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I've been shaving with the same Gillette Sensor razor since 1991. Makes me feel really old to think I've been using it for almost 20 years. I tried my bothers Mach 3 9 years ago and all it ever did was rip and cut my face up. Maybe things have changed but I heard other guys complain about the same problem back then.

For years I used Edge Gel shaving cream for sensitive skin. After many, many years of using it, I decided to go a more natural route as I didn't fathom the idea of putting a cocktail of chemicals on my face daily. I now use all natural shaving soap. Oddly enough, I get a closer shave with LESS irritation. The soap bars are very cheap and last an incredibly long time, usually 4-5 months for each bar. I get the goods from the following ebay seller.

It depends

I keep a full beard but I do trim it regularly.

Every morning, in the shower, after lathering up with whatever shampoo I'm using (lately it's been Head and Shoulders every morning), I shave my cheek and neck area with a Gillette dual blade "Plus Custom" dispo shaver. It lasts a week or two.

The beard and mustache get trimmed dry with a Wahl Motor Clipper. The kind with a slower revving reciprocating motor, not one of vibrating the buzz bombs. I use the #3 comb. I'm able to do this in the shower, before showering, so the clippings go down the drain. Yes, the outlet is a GFCI kind ;-). Then the mustache will get clipped manually with a pair of barber scissors, also periodically, usually in the shower.

The Wahl motor clipper also comes in handy for other areas.

Norelco/Phillips

Ever since high school. I do not like to shave with a blade. I do not like to get my face wet outside of the shower.

I grew my first goatee at 51

and thinking about growing a full beard this Fall. At first I felt self conscious, but now I love it. I do like Edge shaving cream and Gillette Sensor razor, which I think is the best razor hands down. For me, the best way to shave is to wash your face with warm, soapy water. I use a washcloth and get it as hot as I can stand it and applied it to my face. I have stopped shaving every day for the past three years. I'm not going on TV or standing for inspection, Period! My partner shaves my back which looks like a bear, but I'm not shaving my chest as I'm proud of every chest hair I have lol. John

Wow.... I'm surprised that nobody else shaves the old fashioned way! My boyfriend has a power Fusion, so I may try it sometime just to see what it's like.

Previous--Sunbeam Shavemaster.Present-Norelco Arcitec and Braun Pulsonic-use the Norelco first-then the Braun. And use their cleaning and charging bases. So far the "replace blades" indicator on neither has shown yet. They may be coming onto that time.Tried a regular razor-too much trouble and irratation-and cuts.Suppose newer model razors don't cut skin as bad as the older models. So far stick to the two electric razors-so miss the Sunbeams! They were nice razors.Note:I have found the Norelco will cut a little closer if you hold the back part of the cutters while shaving.May irratate some skin if you try it.The Norelco blades may float on the face TOO much. And yes have a small electric razor collection-Remington,Shick,Norelco.Don't use the older ones since new blades aren't available-the old blades will pull or irritate.

I guess I'm the most old-fashioned shaver here, I still use a Gillette Atra, but I use the K-Mart version blades, and Barbasol shaving cream. I shave about every 3-4 days.

It's all about the face!

.
Gilette Good News Plus pivot-head and Edge shaving gel.
I shave in the shower. Bought me a real metal handle and I threfore put much less plastic into the environment. I hav eno aversion to dispoable razors when traveling.

It is said that the sexiest thing a man does is shave.
(shave what, you ask........)

I'm a Gillette Atra guy

Tried electric in my younger days. Too much pulling. Went to blade and never looked back, I feel the blade is just cleaner and not so patchy.

didn't know your (current) gender and was afraid to ask.

Always had dangly parts. No need to be sorry, it's hard to tell online with whom you are talking to.

Fur Coat

I shave my face and neck with a Norelco and done so since I was 18. I shave nothing else and part of my allure is my healthy pelt so I leave it alone.

I always have kept it simple

I shave with a shick disposable with just Dial bar soap in the shower. For me, when I was first learning to shave, it was more of a time saver. When ever I would use Shaving cream, I would break out,so I stopped buying it and never have looked back.
