Keyplate Question.........

Somebody (possibly Louis???) fairly recently posted a European Hoover brochure- the Keyplates I have are stamped A3112 and A2082- was this the Export version ?????

Have at least another load for tomorrow :) :)

The morning after the night before....

....and I am still over the moon!

So it looks like it was pensioned off with merely rough bearings! Some peoples loss is definitely other peoples gain and thank god it turned up at your house Seamus and not the local tip. Phew:-)

The other model numbers are for export versions and generally all were cold fill only - hence the A2XXX, rather than A3XXX model numbers.

I think the picture you might be referring to was of an Italian Hoover brochure posted for its cleaners, over in Discuss o Vac.
Showed a picture of the export versions of our A3006 and A3008. Numbered A2022 and A2026 respectively and cold fill only, they were called 'Automatic' and 'Automatic De Luxe', with no mention of the word 'Keymatic'. I saved a piccy of them and will post them, if no one else gets round to posting it, when I get home this evening.

Mike has many keys and some of those also have weird and whacky model numbers on them too.

thank god it turned up at your house Seamus and not the loca

Amen to that........

It very nearly did- what I didnt mention is it wasnt actually a new washer the woman had delivered it was a fridge!!- its only because she mentioned to the delivery guy she was going to phone the council to dispose of it as it hadnt been used for ages that he said he would take it free and save her the £20 odd.

Really dosent bear thinking about........

Hoover Keymatics

Morning Seamus, did you get much sleep last night!!???, you can see now how the timer & indicator timeline arm is the same as the "Selectomatic" that Mathew resurrected..

Its interesting seeing the timer so far back from the card / keyplate reader!! and to see the storage slot on top instead of below.

Enjoy, Mike

A rather explosive occurance......

She was on the second rinse on a 60 cottons....
Cue almighty great BANG and clouds of acrid smoke billowing out from under the lid, the Keyplate slots etc:(

I was in the next room- Matt was sat a foot away from it........

Thankfully all seems ok now this has been bypassed lol......

I am fed up with so much ironing, please send me more detail

Seamus, congratulations! Love the styling of this series... the control layout looks much smarter too without the programme guide on it. I presume the cycles and that are pretty much identical to that of the A3110 etc?

Congrats again its a stellar machine!

Have fun,

Jon

Awesome looking Hoover!

I would hate to have to change that Timer out! I have never seen a timer with so many wires in my life!!!

For means of comparison with Seamus' A3112...

Here are a few pictures of the next model up, in the pecking order.

Mathew's A3114 Selectamatic 1100...

and from the back, with the indicator arm clearly apparrent. Always worries me that this indicator arrangement looks a bit fragile...[this post was last edited: 6/2/2010-11:39]

For keyplate reader, instead there is effectively a permanent cylindrical keyplate with a wide variety of programme options....

Also in the 'Smoother' Range were:

A3108 Electronic 800 (square door)
A3166 Automatic 610 (round door)
A3170 Automatic 800 (round door) - anyone got a picture of this machine at all? Very evasive machine with no evidence, other than a sheet of paper, to show that it existed!
&
D6074 Dryer De Luxe.

An all encompassing series of machines.

Paul

Well done!

It is good to see those machines alive and kicking.

Mum and Gran each had the A3110. I remember wondering about the Keymatic and Selectamatic, as I studied the monochrome Installation Instruction sheet.

Nice to see them in the flesh.

New door gasket.....

The old one was starting to craze/perish and had a slight dribble on the door glass seal. Hoover no longer make the original design for this machine so I fitted the post 1985 version. The main difference is its ribbed on the inside and the folds are smaller so you dont get as large a "trough" of water to mop out after use.

in use

Hello Seamus

Does that mean we are going to see your Keymatic installed as your daily driver in the kitchen :-)

This would be brilliant, like Mat uses his 3060 as a daily driver aswell..........

Hoover Washer

Hi Seamus,

What a fantastic find and machine.

Hope you can post a video soon.

Daily Driver??

Hey Gary

Once its bearing/slight rust issues are sorted then it will indeed be sharing duties with the Insight :).

The A3308 will rotate position with it once the suspension is attended to as well ;).

Fortunatly because of shared pipes im unable to be metered :D

Paul.....
Once its installed in position videos will be attended to :).
