What is everyone's favorite laundry detergent?

Tide HE powder of some ilk, usually with bleach.

Era liquid or Wisk liquid.

Foca powder.

WM Persil powder/perls.  2-in-1 liquid (although the scent tends toward overwhelming), surprising how little dosage is needed ... 2 tablespoons is sufficient for average loads in my Calypso and Neptune TL.

Fresh Start for the scent, although it's not an especially good detergent.  Apparently it's NLA but I have two jugs left from a case bought some years ago.

Fresh Start

Have several jugs of the vintage stuff. You can improve results by kicking things up a notch with some sort of "booster" I like to add either a bit of my homemade soap jelly or Tide Gentle/F&C.

One of the reasons Fresh Start is so low sudsing is that it is mostly alkaline substances (phosphates, washing soda, etc..) along with nonionic (low froth) surfactants. This along with one enzyme (protease) and other things.

Nonionic surfactants are indeed good cleaners and low sudsing but anionic are better for certain soils such as oily dirt. This is why TOL laundry detergents are often a blend of the two. Soap could be classified as an anionic surfactant which accounts for why Tide and other laundry detergents add a bit of that substance to "enhance cleaning"....

Japanese Biozet Attack

Yes I'm a big fan of this one! It's quite a fine powder so it dissolves easily, and is absolutely loaded with brighteners and enzymes optimised for use in cold or warm water. I get whiter whites using this in a cold or warm wash than I do using hot water, chlorine bleach and another detergent. I find that it absolutely strips fabric of stains, oils or fabric softener residue so it's great for those of us with greasy skin, but it's too harsh for use on colours.

IIRC

Cold water washing is and has been the norm in Japan for ages. Thus it wouldn't surprise me if there were not some potent detergent offerings to cope under such circumstances.

Glad somebody else has heard of Biozet Attack!

The texture or whatever you call it is remarkable. It isn't dusty but seems very light and easy to dissolve. There was some fancy engineering going on with the manufacturing process.

The box I had a couple of years ago seemed to indicate it only had two enzymes, called Enzyme P and Enzyme C, presumably protease and cellulase. But it works. As I recall there was also a warning about not washing over a certain temperature, maybe 50 degrees Celsius?

Attack (Biozet Attack)

I don't know if the scent is the same as the Japanese Attack. I guess it is, because the Australian one is also made in Japan. But I can tell that it is indeed very very nice. A blend of lily of the valley and fine freshness.

Sears!

Just bought the 275 load box of the Ultra Plus with Fabric Softener and I really like it! I used the orange box before and the smell is very similar...not much left after the dryer. But everything came out perfect in terms of softness and static. I honestly hate using fabric softener so this may be my first choice detergent from now on. It's low sudsing too which is good for my GE Filter Flo. I often have issues with over-sudsing on smaller loads.

Got it on sale for $19.99 with free shipping. I may have to buy a few more boxes in case Sears goes under. LOL.
