Draws and drawers

I used to kid my ex, who grew up in Brooklyn, this way: I'd point at a drawer and ask her, "What is that?"

"A draw!"

Then I'd show her a drinking straw, and ask, "What is this?"

"A stwah!"

God, this sounds like a wind up for an "Emily Litella" report on  Weekend Update on the Saturday Night Live of 30 years ago.  Imagine her sitting next to an exasperated Jane Curtin going on about "...What is this refer madness I'm hearing so much about?"

never heard reefer....though I just know differences of Midwest/kansas and NE "dialects"... I mean Pop turns Soda etc...
Do not know if that is used in certain areas of the US.
I know in the south lots of  people  calls it frigidaire and ice box.....and IIRC frigidaire is also common  part of afro-american slang in the south.
