irishwashguy, you had better stock up on the SA8 Plus, it's been discontinued. I live in a PO4 banned area, though got to try it once and liked it a lot. I'm going to pick the last of the Smashing White today and then be done with the company!
My current fav's are Tide HE powder, for massage linens and lights, Cheer HE for colours and Persil for lights and whites.
Though, being fickle, this is subject to change.

I like Tide with Bleach Powder(because it smells like Dash did)and, honestly, I can't perceive differences, other than fragrance in softeners. I usually go with what smells least offensive and I like the brands that aren't ultra concentrated because I don't have to dilute them for the dispenser.

This Kenmore fan loves

TideHE, vintage Tide, and new Tide powder (if given no other choice) and Downy April Fresh (pref vintage). Oh! There are other brands out there? Well, then... maybe Fresh Start.

I'm just finishing a box

of Tide With Bleach, and it's been good, but I'm not going to get it again any time soon.

So far, this year, I have been most impressed with All Small And Mighty in the "rain" scent, and will probably get it when I am out of the TWB. I like how easy the Small and Mighty bottle is to handle, and when taking the bus home from the store, I welcome its size and (lack of) weight.

I know I am NEVER going to use Xtra again. No matter if they give it away!

Right now, I am using some All fabric softener, and it works well, but I'll go back to Downy Refill in "April Fresh" soon.

Uh, I'm not sure I should even admit this, but my favorites are Whatever's On Sale. I had been using the big Bucket O' Powder from Sears but I've run out and they've only been having the liquid on sale.

Currently, I'm using a bottle of All Small & Mighty that I must have gotten free. It seems about as good as anything else. There's a bottle of Method in the wings ready to step in and take over the lead.

Same for fabric softener, I'm afraid. Currently using Final Touch and, like the All, is as good as anything else. I refuse to buy Gain softener any more--the smell nearly killed me.

If P&G should ever bring back Downy Advanced, I'd buy a case!

Although I do chop and change - I always tend to go back to good ol' Persil or Ariel powders. Can't beat either for cleaning or whitening. Softener wise it used to be Comfort but since discovering I'm allergic to it, my current favourite is now Ecover fabric softener.

I have 2 favorites actually..I really like Cheer, original scent powder. Also, I ordered Oxydol with Bleach powder off the internet and must say It smells great and cleans quite well.

Favorite vintage detgergent is Classic Tide from the 70's and 80's and Oxydol..

oh forgot fabric softener...Hands down its Final Touch. I wish I could find it down here in FL, so I am using Purex Mountain Fresh scent which is good

My favorite "daily driver" so to speak would have to be the Sears laundry detergent. I have been using the one with Oxi Clean and it does a great job for me. Very low suds too in the HET4. Ritchie what is that product you mentioned called Peach Vernel? Sounds interesting.

I'm like Veg.. I shop by price most of the time but splurged just today out with mom at Walmart and bought an $8 bottle of Tide Simple Pleasures just for the H of it. (water lily and jasmine scent) That's a lot of money for a jug that only does 25 loads.

Lately I've been really happy with Seventh Generation powder (with non-chlorine bleach) and Ecover fabric softener.

I used to think the ecological products weren't nearly as effective as the conventional brands, but that appears to be changing. Improved product formulas coupled with high-efficiency washers seem to be an effective combination.

I like the Cheer with softener liquid, original Cheer powder, Wisk HE Triple Concentrate, and All powder (available at Walgreens), Tide Coldwater Fresh, Kirkland, and Final Touch Fabric Softener.

Opening up new box of Surf Ocean Breeze from Target tonight.

I'll also occasionally use the Ajax and Dynamo liquids because they are unbelievably inexpensive by me, are relatively low-sudsing and smell pretty good.
