Posted these back in 2006 and have been daily drivers until two years ago, and replaced with new Speed Queens front loaders. The ladies now vacation at the weekend home with limited use. Now for a side note of all the washers I have had and used over the years this set has out cleaned my Maytags and Speed Queens I use today with great fabric care.

A new white Detergent cup ...
And a Dial will make this machine complete.
I have a new srubber cap from Robert.
Otherwise it's a powerhouse.

Just has to be the 1851/03 Hotpoint Liberator De Luxe.

Really, they're all my favorites but I have said a number of times that if I were forced to get rid of them all and could only keep one that my '72 1-18 is the one that would stay. For two reasons. 1. It's flexibility to handle smaller and larger loads and 2. It's more rare color among the line.

I have to agree with you. For capacity and a whole host of reasons, I think if I could only have 1 washer, it would be a 1-18 (just like yours!)

1958 Filter-Flo
My favorite is Eddy's 1958 Filter-Flo. Robert has one too; his is turquoise. I love the AGI with the pink cap and the copper filter pan. I love the way they sound!!!
I have fond memories of my Mom's '60 filter-flo and the sounds it made.

If I Could Only Keep One Classic
It would diffidently be one of my 29" Kenmore Gas Combos ,it is one classic machine that you don't have to make excuses for.
Fortunately I can keep more than one, so my laundry room will always include a 1-18, my 1971 LKM modified to include 720 RPM spin speed and changed to Super Capacity and Suds_Saver, My SQ FL washer with water heater, My 1998 WP DD Resource Saver washer with spin rinsing, My Frigidaire Unimatic WO-65 with 2 deep rinses, My 1962 Frigidaire Custom Imperial pair washer still has the Rapid-dry 850 RPM spin and the dryer is a Filtrater air cooled condenser model, and my GE sink-top FF washer.
Plus Many Others.

1986 Kenmore LTD. I always dreamed of having one of these growing up. Now that I have it it will always be my favorite. Not to mention they are just so classy.

Well, it may not be working as a dryer, but I think my GE Combo in the 1956 Kitchen Centre has to be my favorite washer!
