What to buy?

Hello all

My cousins Beko WMA641 has broken down after 5 years of service, well we've been impressed for a machine that was £200. However they require a replacement quickly with the kids laundry building up.

Its between a Beko WMB71442S or Indesit IWD7145S, which should we go for? They are both the same price within the budget with 7kg capacity and 1400rpm spin.

Out of the two the Beko, but if your willing to throw another in the mix, check out the Bush Vestel range on Argos. Quite quick for delivery too.

Thank you very much, the only problem is we need it tomorrow so we're going in the morning to buy and collect instead of having it delievered.

I was thinking of the Beko too, it has 55 litre drum 3 litres bigger in volume than the indesit drum, the machine seems well built and hopefully lasts as long or longer than the old one.

Time will tell I guess, both of your choices will have sealed drums (the Vestel ones don't). So maybe an extended warranty may not be a bad idea. The Vestel ones can also be found in Asda as Russell Hobbs branded (no idea if they display them in store, just know that's the place to get them)

Talking about those washing machines a friend of mine wanted a black washing machine so she bought a black 7kg 1400 spin model from argos. She's happy with it but the only thing she dislikes are the 3 hour long cotton washes,she uses the one hour wash mojority of the time unless its a full load.

The results are good so for the price guess you can't go wrong.

For the budget end of the market I cannot champion the vestel enough. Pitted against the other brands in this range wins hands down for me. I know these machines are relatively knew for the market, but what I have seen they are good. My mates got one and really likes it, it always makes people spit their drinks out when I ask how's her bush lol

Back on topic, well the Beko was out of stock and they didn't like the Beko or the Indesit. They preferred the Hotpoint Aquarius+ WMPF742G as most of the family has Hotpoint washing machines and all have proven reliable so they followed the trend lol

Will be installing it tonight.

It's a good one, bemused some people when I asked that in front of my friends lol.
Ah well you basically will be plumbing in an Indesit anyway, just a good thing you will get the 1 year labour / 5 years parts on it (as long as you a Hot-esit direct engineer)

Well it is but it seems more solid. It has similar programming to the ultima models, the door seems more solid than indesit machines, it has a super silent motor and the detergent drawer was tiny on the indesit (it didn't pull out much) so this was the one that was chosen.

Well lets hope we don't need any call outs for a good few years.

Wash Action - New Hotpoint Aquarius+

Whats the washing action like on this new Hotpoint then, On cottons is it fast, like the Ultima, or is only the Whites wash with fast tumbles?
Is it what you expected?
And did you run it through the correct cycle, looks like it is on a rinse, not a 60C cotton wash!

I was rushing last night, installed it and put it on a rinse then cancelled it and put it on spin to check for any leakages in the feed pipe and drain pipe. Then I selected the Cotton 60 wash and left so only got to see the first tumble which is exactly like the ultima's (starts off fast).

Well the first actual wash with clothes was done today, I rang up and they are satisfied. When i'm down next i'll observe a wash.
