Hey Lee,

I would have to agree that being selective when (or if) giving gifts next year could cause problems. Teacher's Pet Syndrome and all that.

Next year, do what your heart tells you to do. If you decide to give, great for you. If you decide against, you have good cause. Lots can change between now and then, and only time will tell.

I wasn't TOTALLY serious with that comment lol. Knowing how mean I can be I probably would do something like that, but I was sort of joking, I wouldn't expect anyone else to do that. But with how people seem to be so ungrateful sometimes, you just wanna give them a reality slap to make them realize that they should appreciate something someone gives them, no matter how small the gesture may be.

I got my thank-you phone calls from my great niece and nephew today for the cash I gave them for Christmas so at least I know my niece is on the ball with them. I don't think they were forced, just reminded, like my mom always had to do with me when I was a kid. It does stick in the end.

I'm still waiting 10 years for a thank-you for the wedding present I gave to a co-worker.. t'wasn't just me who didn't get one either so I know it wasn't "lost in the mail"

How sad they gave the cards back to you....

I would however in front of all of the turds....give the two cards that they returned to the wonderful employee that was so grateful for his.
I would then say out loud...."Here is $150 to spend however you want for you and your loving family at JC Pennys".
I think they would feel like idiots after that move.

Exactly what I did do, and made sure they all saw

I said you deserve this more than they do anyway.. Yesterday he cleaned all the trucks and cleaned the all the traps on his own time. Now they are all treating him like Sh**

He says he dont care he works for me not them.. good boy!

Yay!
Good Move Lee!
I think you did what was best! I love it!
Don't be surprised if he buys you something from Penny's in appreciation for being his nice and thoughtful boss!
Happy New Years!

Way to go Lee! It sounds like you've got one hell of an employee there! I'm glad to see you let the others know that hard work, and appreciation pays off. Anyone who doesn't appreciate something given to them for free, needs their head checked.
