What would your dream laundry appliance be like?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Here is my idea for a dream washing machine:

The machine would be a washer/dryer combo which would be Top-Loading and Vertical-Axis. The machine would not have an agitator and would wash on a vertical axis by turning the tub back & forth while recirculating the wash and rinse water on top. The machine would then rotate the drum 90 degrees to a horizontal axis to do tumble drying complete with drum reversal ala Fisher & Paykel. The machine would be ventless and be a 120-volt machine. Instead of a lint filter, to catch lint while drying, the machine would use a root cyclone canister just like the Dyson vacuum cleaners. The lint would be puled in and swirled out of the air and then the clean air is blown back out into the room. When it comes time to empty it, just hold it over a wastebasket and press a button on top to cause the bottom to pop open and all the lint to fall into the waste basket. Obviously the lint during the wash cycle will get flushed into a holding tank and flushed down the drain. But That's not all. By pressing the "Horizontal-Axis Mode" button, the drum would rotate 90 degrees and wash like a Front-Loader! Whether you choose to wash like that or not, the machine will detect the size & wheight of the load, the type of fabric & garments in the load and the colors. Then it will automatically fill up with the right amount of water, configure the wash and rinse speed and intensity of the wash and rinses and the length of wash time, the number of rinses, the wash & rinse temp. the final spin speed, and the drying temparature and dryness level. It would also automatically dispense the correct amount of detergent, liquid chlorine bleach, colorfast bleach, and fabric softener. The machine would sanitize laundry using silver like the Samsung SilverCare.

Yes, I did neglect to mention, It would have a galss lid and glass front made out of safety glass. Each one would go blurry with those LCD screens that they are beggining to use to made a window opaque instead of curtains. the front one would blur during a T-Axis wash and the top would blur during an H-Axis wash and during drying. They would both go clear when the drum rotates and they could both be blurred by pressing a button if the user does not want to see the wash action. The lid would be heated and vented so that the stem from hot water does fog it up. The machine would be avalible in a wide rainbow of colors. It would be avalible in the basic colors: White, Black, Bisque, and of course Titanium and Stainless Steel. The deluxe colors would include Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Bright Green, Dark Green, Aqua, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Indigo, Violet(Purple), Red Violet, Brown, and what the heck, how about something in Puce?

If Mr. Unimatic1140 is living his dream of actually building

...what a laze! Robert is a sampe to follow not to be "invidiouse" of!

This is my dream machine! Ignis Superautomatica K563. Perfeclty bring back to working order from 1963!
- TL convenience;
- HA efficiency, even if this machine water consumptions are higher than nowadays wm...its cycles are though incredible shorter, and it rinses in three times comparing with my new Whirlpool TLHA which (even with a lower water consumption) last hours and hours to wash and doesn't rinses as well as this one neither in 5-6 rinses!
- 4 paddles in the drum and not only 3!
- VERY BIG DRUM! It says 5kilos but the same 5k put in the Whirlpool left lot of space if put in this...so I assume is 6-7K
- DUAL INLET VALVE! Yes Gabri, NOW it's impossible to find it here in Italy apart from LG and Miele Allwater (maybe mod. 3841)... but in past there were more common!!

What else would you like!? This machine should be produced again and I'm perfectly sure will mathc enthusiastically the US market...neither Staber is like this!
