Talk about Frau-Frau!

Who did the interior design for that second house? Flowers and frau-frau (is that what you'd call that) everywhere! Look at how cluttered that home looks! My goodness!

The house looks nice, but the decorating! I'd just love to know who lives there!

Pete, each house is coool. Looks like #1 house doesn't have a dishwasher in the kitchen. I kinda like house #2. Can you asy bear (bare) romps!!!!

Brady Bunch House Oddities

The real house in only a one story. The film crew hung a fake window in the peaked roof area to make it look like two stories. Even if you let yourself believe it's a two story, it doesn't match the floorplan of the inside of the house. As you know, you go up the stairs on the right side of the house and that is where the upstairs is. Not the left side of the house where the (fake) second story is. I remember thinking that when I was 9!

In one of the newer Brady Bunch satire/whatever movies (I didn't care for them...Greg having incestual feelings towards his sister was just disgusting to me, but that's another thread) they cheated by shooting the house from an angle that the tree covered where the "window" would have been, as obviously there is no window there.

It is amazing that they didn't bother to shoot another house, or even a phony one on the backlot, that more closely resembled the layout of the interior set. One of those odd things that was never cleared up!

Kinda Brady.......

Golly Pete:

That is a really nice house for a really great price!! If I lived up there (toooooooo cold, thank you), I'd jump on it in a heartbeat!!

Brady House

Well, I never tried to disprove the real house vs. the studio set. I just wanted to immerse myself into the Brady home and just believe that it was real.

I always wished the Bradys or Partridges could've adopted me.

Holy Ground

I thought it was pretty cool to just stand in front of the "real" Brady house, take pictures, and admire it. 37 years after the Brady Bunch hit the airwaves that house is still recognizable today as the Brady's.
I'm with Pete too, I figured out early on the exteriors they were using did not fit the interior at all.
Brady legend has it that Sherwood Schwartz chose that house because it was "typically" suburban.
