I am looking for a vintage washing machine from either the 50's or 60's to buy. I am giving a large area to look from since they are nearly impossible to find these days. Any hints?

Habitat for Humanity

I got lucky and found my set (see link) at a Habitat for Humanity Resale store. I don't know if they are in your area or not. Another friend mentioned going to the Salvatin Army on Saturday mornings. It seems that one in my area gets older appliances. I found a nice 1970's GE with minibasket out in the country at some mom and pop thrift shop too. He only wanted 100 bucks but I could not get it at the time. If all else just watch ebay and the group here some one has one for you.

Jpresley76--the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Forest Park between Grand and Vandeventer often has interesting older machines at extremely reasonable prices.

Sure Joe

Trading and giving are what makes the guys in this club special. The dryer is in the back row in the storage unit. I put an NOS heating element, new appliance light bulb and an NOS timer into it when I got it. Any time you're in the area, you can get it. Or if I'm ever that way, I'll bring it with me. Drop me an email sometime to remind me.

There's nothing like a matched set!

Thanks!!

That is Awsome of ya. I really appreciate it. When I get it I'll have to find a special person to take my big green Norge Dryer LOL.
