I've been trying to find Ariel detergent for High Efficiency washers and can't find it! I was told by a P&G rep that it's in Hispanic grocery stores. I've checked the ones here in the Carolinas, but they only stock the regular Ariel. Any suggestions?

It's quite elusive.

I've been unable to spot it locally here in the SF Bay Area. I undertstand it might have been available at some point in the LA-San Diego area, but I have no further info on that.

Last year I was able to locate a Mexican distributor who was willing to ship here, but the quantity and price was a bit off-putting. Sorry, I don't have a name but a little work with Google might unearth the source.

Ariel Baja Espuma

Locally there are a couple of variations of powder Ariel. The Baja Espuma types (or "Matic") are one for regular laundry, then there is another one for whites (which I cannot find in the Ariel site), and the last one with softner (which I have never tried). Ariel is my workhorse detergent of choice.

Actually I thought  and stll think that the Ariel Oxyanillos (now changed to oxy esferas or somethng like that)  was the regular Ariel good for all the laundry! As they states in packages also.....not just for "whites".....I use it in all my laundry and get wonderful results!
P.S

Both the link does not work for me.....

Yes, Mich! I'd love to know where to get this next-to-impossible-to-find laundry product! And you won't have to worry about me cleaning out the store shelves....it takes me a while to go through detergent! :)

Never been able to find it...

I live in San Diego. We have a variety of large and small Mexican grocery stores and supermarkets and I look for Ariel Bajaespuma every time I'm shopping. I also travel extensively inside and outside the US...never seen it on my travels either.

All the various Ariel packages reference using it for front loaders but it is very elusive.

Ariel HE

Ariel is the UK's TOL P&G Laundry Detergent. ALL of our washers are HE (they have always been the front load style - we almost completely bypassed TL machines, so much so - our washers are just washers, we don't use the HE term. Very very few (I'm one of the few :) ) who have a TL machine.

If you work out the cost of product and shipping to get Ariel from the UK to you, I will gladly ship you some, don't want any profit from it, I go to the store anyway.

Ollies here...

Has Ariel Style & Color in Liquid & Powder, and not only does it smell Amazing, it's low sudsing and does a outstanding job in my FL.

It's the 2x Concentrated stuff, and comes with a nice dosing scoop. :)

I also know of a place that carries Ariel Bajaespuma, but um... they also stock Phosphate'd Cascade, and I haven't had the chance to buy them out yet :P

Yes I meant incorrect, that's how it's spelled correctly, sorry for the typo...
Starting wth saying that not ALL as you menton are front loader in europe, and what happened here is not a matter of "bypassation", and that there're absolutely not HE machines in europe but there're the Classes and other classifications...
In Europe there is not the HE concept (which is just a marketing strategy) , like there is not in other countries, even in the ones where there was a majority of top loaders historically and where other kinds of machnes and so front loaders are now sold...
HE is just a marketing strategy brought up in the USA to entice people buying new types of machines claimed to be better and money saver than others, the appealing name given: "high efficiency" makes people think at something better, better performing (not absolutely true)...so this elusive conceptual "trick" made the job over there, "tricking" lots of people with this concept and play on words...we've to remember front loader washers always existed in the USA but would not be HE...
Exist also HE machines that are Top loader and types of HE machines in which even regular powders could be used safely... as there're Front loaders that are non-HE... HE does not automatically translates in front loader...true, most of HE machines requires low-foam detergents like front loaders do...they had to put HE symbol in detergents since people are dumb so they did put this mark on low foam ones to say they're the ones good for the most of HE machines requiring low-foam products....thing that of course didn't happen in countries where the HE concept does not exist....and where they can just realize theirself where low foam is required, where is not...which is not so difficult matter...but for americans switichng to HE looks it is...not that the thing surprise me...

There is also the speech about Ariel bajaespuma very possibily not paragonable to the European or british version for istance, which yes is low foam like almost all the powders for automatics in europe (being the front loader kind more common) ....but likely not the same as the mexican bajaespuma one...like on the other hand the regular mexican one is totally different from the "handwash/twin tub/toploader agitator kind" sold in Europe....

We've to note as same brands sold over the world changes totally, the (low foam) tide you find in serbia for example is totally different of one sold in the USA...

May also be that is not the original mexican one we're talking about but maybe a new form of the now "Americanized" Ariel products line, called: "Ariel USA (product they're now carrying packed and manufactured on purpose for american market since great success of the mexican product in the USA) for which they could now sell and make even a (low foam) "HE" labelled version meant to be sold so on the american market with the HE logo infact..
I think more similar if not identical to the mexican ariel formulas instead than the european one...
But you'll never find the HE logo in one of the original mexican ones....nor the products will be the same or similar to the european ones... I can tell this for sure!

Thanks

Ah right, thanks for the interesting information Kenmoreguy.

So the people earlier on in the thread will be looking for a different Ariel to what we have?

Also to ask you a question? (You may have answered, but it's late and cant concentrate that well :)

Is the USA Tide HE that I buy suitable for our standard "HE" machines? You mentioned that a Serbian Tide is even lower foam than that of USA Tide HE's line? I love USA Tide, I really like the smell. I wish they sold it in the UK (USA looks like they can both have Ariel and Tide, so why not the UK?

Thanks

Liam,
