Unfortunately, it will get worse. Eggs are being dumped. There is a shortage of retail consumer packaging since those plants are closed. Packaging for restaurants is different. Since cruise lines, schools, and restaurants are not operating or operating with less business, there is no demand there.
Around here (& the rest of the US), chicken flocks, both layers and broilers, are being gassed to reduce them. People are not showing up to the processing plants to work (that's also around the country). Again, with schools closed, milk demand is way down. Farmers are having to dump milk in their fields.
I could go on & on why there is a shortage starting. Living in small farm territory I see it first hand.
