I have settled on SQ TL washer, just not sure which model. I have read about all differences. We are a family of 4, wash 4-8 loads/week, we don't dry everything, prefer to hang most shirts, shorts, jeans - general outerwear. There is a store about 1 hour away that stocks the 311 and 412 - but not sure if I should just order the 542 or 432. They range in price from $589, $629, $649, $669. I watched the you tube videos also. Also we don't have heavily soiled clothes. Main issue would be providing as few wrinkles as possible.
Thanks,
Nelson

You might want to check with USAppliance.com - yesterday they had all four models on sale, and ship free anywhere in the country. You'd probably not pay any tax either.

As to which model, probably any of the 2-speed models would suit you. They all have Perm Press cycles.

I have been tempted the last few weeks to buy a AWN311 while I still can, but can't justify the $550+ for a toy.

Good luck, let us know what you decide!

I talked with USApp the other day. Shipping to my area would be two to three weeks - don't care to wait that long. Semi-local store could have upper units in 3-4 days. Thanks, Nelson

I'm sure the 412 would be adequate but for another $40 I can get the 542. Is it worth the extra cycles? Nelson

Picture of control panel

this depends if you have some clothes that requieres a hand wash cycle and if you need an extra rinse option i would say it might be usful to have these cycles and with the 542 you also gain a buton for selecting the speed see next 2 pictures lol and this link as well.

I have studied the control panels individually. What gives you control over the spin on the 542? Thanks, Nelson

On the 542, the knob that says Fabric Selector is actually for selecting one of 4 wash/spin speed combinations.  Regular give normal wash & spin speeds.  Permanent Press gives Normal Wash speed and slow spin speed.  Knits gives slow wash speed & Normal Spin Speed and Delicates gives slow wash and slow spin speed.  the 432 SHOULD have 3 of those speed combinationos built into the timer.  Meaning Regular, Permanent Press, and Delicate/HandWash on the timer dial equate to the 3 above.  There is not the 4th combination (called Knits) for slow wash and fast spin speed.   I don't believe I caught anywhere in the thread what machine you are replacing with the upcomiing Speed Queen.

I am replacing a Frigidaire FL that has odor. Tired of trying to clean the unit. Tried a Maytag Bravos 700 model for 5 days. Put a folded shirt in load of clothes in the Bravos, when the cycle was done it was still folded. Lowes picked it up yesterday. Nelson

Thank you for the info on the maytag bravo washer

Thank you for the info on the maytag bravo washer about a T-shirt or any other shirt remaining folded so i think for my next washer i will go with an amana top load washer dryer set for my next daily driver when the set i have breaks this set to be precise lol

I'm with John.....pay a little extra now....and have every available option for the future fabric care....rather than kick yourself later wishing you had the extra options......this is one of the few machines that once purchased, you may not have to buy again......

I always opt for the high speed spin, wrinkles or not, and then place in the dryer for a few minutes, and ready to hang wrinkle free

these machines have a very large capacity, and turn over loads very well......the 700rpm spin is a nice option.....

you will want to raise your water level though, to take full use of the machines full capacity

Pierre - what model Amana is that? A local store has the NTW46WXQ in stock. That is what I was going to purchase before finding this site and reading about SQ. Anyone else have info on the above Amana and how it compares? Thanks, Nelson

Peter - I take it by shredder you mean shreds clothes? I prefer to wash my clothes in cold hot water - ha ha. I think I'm going to order the SQ 542. Thanks for all the help and info. Nelson
