Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Come on Ryan....this thing is so small, you could mount it to the roof of your car...

don't laugh....I had a friend bring me a full size set in a PINTO once, he put the washer in the hatch, strapped down the lid, and put the dryer on top of that, and drove it home....I should have taken a pic, I thought he was nuts, but I got a nice set out of it, and nice that he thought of me....

the crazy things we will do for a machine.....well, crazy for the regular people, for us, it's the norm...

It's not a 1964 model. John and/or Gordon would know the exact year, but it's definitely '70's vintage. A lot of people in New York City had this model or one like it because it was small enough to fit in galley kitchens and some bathrooms. Our first washing machine was the 1957 version of this Whirlpool. I may have to have it. I love the fact that it's the "full-featured" version of the 24" wide models and that it's Avocado. I'm so running out of room.

LDA series...

Anyone care to post a link to that thread? I have a full size one in my sights. My aunt had one just like it. Only difference was, the dial was kind of on it's own little raised "console"...anybody know what I mean?

Martin: Stop teasing me! ;-) Just because I couldn't be at your wash-in (REALLY wanted to, fyi) doesn't mean you can just wave the prospect of me having my own vintage machine within almost within reach!

I'm thinking my next car will have to be a truck....

Yeah, that's me......that little red devil on your right

Ryan.....

Oh, we got options and ideas for you.......you just have to say the word!

sure, it's starts out as one little innocent machine....then you find yourself out of control......been there

we'll have you changing out your nightstands for machine space

go ahead....you know you want it!

IT'S CONTAGIOUS!....

Oh yeah..

I totally know the feeling of going out of control with an obsession like washers...I really want to get my hands on something from the 70s to start out with, like the WP I mentioned or a chocolate brown Westy frontloader. I can just hear the BF now: "What the HELL do you need with two washing machines?! You just bought one! I am not schlepping that thing around when we move.." etc.etc.

I am planning to buy a truck as my next vehicle, so as to be able to jump when something like that in Laconia arises. I recall the warm fuzzy feeling I got as an 11 year old watching my dad's brand new WP surgilating the clothes around with a nice woowoo sound...
