Hello everyone!

I have a contact in Arizona who runs an appliance sales and repair business. He occasionally e-mails me with nice belt-drive finds that he thinks I would like. Today I got an e-mail depicting the fanciest Whirlpool set I think I've ever seen, and he called them "creampuffs". They are Avocado. From the pictures, I'd have to agree.

I have a system of sorts that allows me to get stuff from Phoenix to Charlotte for free (it takes time however and the machines need to get from the store to my Phoenix supplier which does cost a little bit). So, if any of you are interested in this set, I will be glad to bring it on to Charlotte, or I can arrange pick-up in Phoenix. I am not interested in them for myself, however surely someone here will be?

The washer as I said is the fanciest I've ever seen, with the lighted panel and the powder blue Surgilator. The dryer is really something, as it has a 2-way full-width door, which can be hinged to drop down as usual, or swing to the side. I have never heard of this before. It also has the electronic dryness sensor in the drum and appears to have the woodgrain on the front.

The mechanicals on the washer look like brand new underneath (can't attach the picture). It would be gratifying if this set were someone's dream set, so please let me know either here or via e-mail if you want me to snag these and I'll get some $$ estimates - it shouldn't be much.

The best thing about these Arizona washers from my experience thus far is they don't rust much, if at all, even in the most usual of places. This is due to the dry climate. A clean rust-free cabinet makes a machine so much more fun to work on!

Enjoy the pics and please let me know if you're interested in these babies. I apologize for the size of the pics.

Have a good week everyone!

Gordon

Well heck I'll say it - VERY cool set! Too bad there wasn't a clear full shot of the set so we could see the beautiful mix of Avocado and wood front paneling!

Almost as good as a Vista Cruiser with the same trim....... mmmmmm

My aunt had a very similar washer in Coppertone. It only had one set of buttons on the far left which regulated temperature, and a knob in the middle which regulated load size. Otherwise the design, the arched console light, and the blue Surgilator with the chrome cap match hers perfectly.

Ben: I agree with your comment about the Vista Cruiser. My uncle and aunt in Virginia had a 1967 model for almost 30 years. It was my favorite car.

Have a good one,
James
