Well for once it’s not the dogs!

The lower part of the agitator goes around sorts herky jerky, and can easily be held in place. I switched agitators, no luck. Sounds fine though. Previous owner replaced the motor coupling himself and thinks he screwed something up. Spins fine. Maybe he forgot a retaining clip or something. Or maybe plastic trans gears are worn? In video machine is set to normal cycle.

Sometimes when a person installs the drive coupling style with metal inserts they do not fully seat it on the motor or gear case shaft causing the shaft to round off. Thus ruining either shaft. I would check this first.

Weak agitation On A DD Washer

If the agitator is really tight on the shaft you have a bad transmission, But it looks like the agitator is slipping on the shaft in the video.
