My friend has a Whirlpool DU927GWDZ1 (Serial Number FH1806382) that she purchased in 1998. I am going over her house on sunday but she says it won't drain.

She hasn't given me other details like Does it try to drain. She claims the sink and disposer is running fine.

It looked like my Power Clean module dishwasher except it doesn't use the center tower to bring water to the top rack.

I had to clear glass out of one about 25 years ago. Someone said look under the "grates" around the module to see if anything is lodged there.

Have any of you got some tips/pointers on this?

Thanks kindly,
paul

I am going over her house this afternoon. I'm hoping she does have an air gap. The plumbing code in my area typically doesn't require one. But I will check that first.

I'm handy in theory but when it comes down to actually performing.... :-)

Non-Draining WP Power-Clean DW

If the pump and motor run fine in the drain direction and it does not have a clogged air-gap or badly kinked rubber drain hose, then remove the drain hose from the check valve that is screwed into the pump assembly. If water does not poor out unscrew the DCV and you will likley find that has something loged in it, unclog it and the DW will will work fine again.

Note: when you unscrew the DCV any water in the DW will poor out, be prepared to catch or mop up about 2 gallons of water.
