New color from Whirlpool.

That Whirlpool Cabrio isn't actually stainless steel, according to the Whirlpool website, it's called "Diamond Dust."

nightmare flashbacks from the 50s and 60s
I'm old enough to remember brown or coppertone appliances (not to mention avocado and harvest gold....). My aunt had the ugliest copper frigerator, then when she redid the kitchen, the old one went into the basement for extra storage. The new Tuscan color looks too close to the old copper appliances for my level of comfort!!!

I think that Cabrio is stainless. They did have a Biscut-colored one on the site called Diamond Dust and if you look at the Whirlpool Duet HT you'll see that the Diamond Dust color is that Biscut color. Also, do you think the next Duet Steam color will be a Harvest Gold-like one?

LOL...you're right, the baby boomers want their appliances to look like their mothers'.
My mother was more sensible...she usually chose white for a fridge or washer. She redid the kitchen of our 1930s-era house when we moved in in 1961. She chose stainless steel Frigidaire cooktop and double wall ovens.
She bought a built in KA dishwasher but I can't remember the color of the front panel, whether it was a decorator color, steel, or a custom panel to match the cabinet. One of my chores was unloading the KA...from age six...and loading/running it from age 8 or so. At first she didn't want us running it for fear we would use too much soap or push the wrong button.
It had three cycles, Rinse-Hold, Normal, and Utility/pots-pans. I did use Rinse-Hold now and then if I'd half loaded the machine without rinsing too well.
I never touched the Utility button because I didn't know what it was for, I'm not sure my mother knew what it was for, and it's possible that cycle was NEVER used in the entire time we were in that house!!

Duet HT® Model WFW9400S is listed in five color choices: Diamond Dust, Black, Biscuit-on-Biscuit, White, and White with Blue Metallic Water Drop.
Just got back from a list of errands which included at stop at Lowe's. While there, we walked by the appliances and I saw the Tuscan Chestnut Duet Steam washer/dryer set with the work surface, the storage pedastals and the elevation platforms. It was at the head of the aisle with the Front-Loaders. Right around the corner from it was the New Aspen set. Every other washer there besides the occasional Bosch or Fisher & Paykel were Direct Drive Whirlpool Top-Loaders. They all had the "speckle" basket with the diagonal holes exept for the Maytag Centennial which had the Stainless Steel basket. I must say, the Tuscan Chestnut looks exactly like the Barolo Kenmore Elite HE5t (The Kenmore version of the Duet.)
*Tuscan* is today's buzz-word of what is fashionable!

I think it's beautiful, BUT I LOVED COPPERTONE, especially compared to pink!!!!!

With some much older DW-ers this was a "cool-dry" in that it was assumed you'd have to do a scrubbing afterwards and didn't want the reamaining yibbles and bits baked-on.
