I’m looking to see if anyone can direct me to a solution to an issue on my experiment with my Whirlpool powerclean. Just out of curiosity I did convert the 5 level direct feed to the older tower design, replaced the pump outlet, got the rubber nozzle, tower, and upper arm. I do know there is a white plastic ring that sits between the lower wash arm black rubber nozzle that twists in and the spray arm which I don’t have. I noticed after recording some videos testing it to make sure the upper arm is fully pressurized, and after review of course the upper arm is turning very slow with very low water pressure, everything is aligned just right so it makes no sense other than if it does need that center seal. The lower arm does its very fast sweep as normal, and nothings clogged at all as I’ve kept my machine in top notch shape since I purchased it; so everything’s running as it should. Not even the replacement arm is clogged with anything.

It’s not surging, it’s got plenty of water, and works perfect with the direct feed system in, as I’ve watched it on video and the upper arm spins at full pressure and the jet streams are definitely reaching the correct lengths with the direct feed parts. With the tower, the upper arm is very weak but it’s in taking the entire jet stream from the tower and it’s not missing it slightly, as I recorded up close of that as well. Not sure if this center seal has anything to do with it. And if anyone knows the seal I’m speaking of, throw me a part number if you can. Thanks all.

Thank you. I will order that and hopefully that solves the issue as to why the upper arm isn’t being fully pressured as it is getting full tower feed, and the pump itself works exact how it should and fills with the perfect amount of water.

that paper thin spacer is not going to make a difference....its just there to reduce wear against the nozzle cap...

you could cut and make one out of a plastic lid from a coffee can....

have you checked the upper arm where the clip holds the arm, it may be dragging there on the support, I would try some lubricant to see if that helps....can't hurt at this point...

Yes everything is tight as it should be, and it’s sitting in the direct middle where it needs to be. It’s clear, no clogs, same with the spray tower it’s centered. The tower I got is missing two out of 4 of the clips that clip to the rack from rust, not sure if during the cycle it could be shifting around slightly and making it not fully pressurize the upper arm?

It’s a mystery that I cannot solve.

This model was a direct feed at birth, and an energy star model so I’m not sure if it maybe uses less water than the previous models with a tower? If so that could be the issue, I’ll have to dump some water in next time I get the time to put the other wash outlet & tower parts in it, as I put the direct feed pieces back in for now until I wanna test that. Other than that I just cannot think of any reason it wouldn’t be fully pressurized, from the footage I took the arm was getting water perfectly it was just turning slow and the jet stream was very weak only 3-4 inches high at most when it should be reaching over the top of the rack.
