Whirlpool own Indiset, Hotpoint and Creda apparently

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

It seems strange to me that a 2004 dryer suddenly becomes a fire hazard in 2016! All dryers can suffer from internal fluff build up if not operated according to the instructions so all dryers are potential fire hazards.

All this happened...

When Whirlpool bought out Hotpoint/Indesit (about a year ago).

Turns out, Whirlpool weren't happy with a certain manufacturing aspect of the Hottie and Indy dryers so issued this 'recall'.

Hence why there are no Whirlpool branded dryers part of this recall.

Is this the end of dryers from Yate?

I wonder if Whirlpool will cease dryer production in Yate (unless of course Indesit already had). I have one of the affected dryers - an Aqualtis that I bought in 2009. I have been advised that it will take up to eight weeks before an engineer will visit, and 'to operate the dryer under supervision in the meantime'...

They did..

A calculation on This Morning.

And with the amount of engineers they have..

If those engineers worked 7 days a week for all 52 weeks of the year, it will take 5 YEARS to get to all the affected dryers.

Don't know how they're going to do it to be honest.
